Hello from Siegrien, New FFXI Player

Hey everyone, my name is Siegrien (or just call me Sieg for short!). I am a new player to the world of Vana'diel, looking to make this place my new escape for the next year or so (probably until XIV). I have always wanted to play this game, however never got into it for some reason. I love the FF series, and I love MMOs, so I figured I'd give this one a whirl. After seeing the hype about XIV, I believed that as an avid game player, that I should give the foundation for the new game the recognition it deserves.

I do not know anyone really, minus a dude named Nightshade who was kind enough to befriend me and help me out with the 101s of this game (I know to cast signet and how to bid/sell on the auction house), it really is not easy to pick up on -____- I have gotten my way to level 13 as a BLM, and I have done the first two missions. Can anyone explain to me what I should be doing? I have no friends to party with =[

The guy I met in the game told me I should be looking for a summoner burn group, (I put up my Seek Party flag and set my comment to [Summoner] [Burn] [Can I have it?]), but I have not found a group and I've waited for about 2 hours at a time and nothing >__<" Would anybody be able to help set me up or schedule a group? I really want to get into this game, however I know nothing about it. If anybody would be so kind as to help me out, that would be awesome.

Well first off, welcome to Quetz and FFXI!

Just an FYI, you are joining, as I'm sure you know, a 6 year old game which has a lot of old players who have forgotten the meaning of starting new. I, however, am not one of those. Please feel free to /sea all Sanriku, and if I'm not busy I'll lend a hand and guide when I can ^_^

Also, to whoever the ass was that told you to join a smn burn party.. kill him. Those are not intended for new players just learning the game and mechanics of it. Bad, bad, bad advice lol.
