*I'm not flaming, but just thought the General Discussion board was more appropriate, as it reaches a wider audience and as the name implies, we all have a say.*

Any of us who have tried camping any NM knows that the people who play this game as a real life job (i.e. gilsellers) have control of our economy. How practically our whole economy can be distorted by the minds of just a few individuals is really an amazing feat. This is not limited to NM camping, but inclues people that camp the craft stores and sell the items at the AH at ridiculously high prices since they are not available anywhere else... ><

Anyway, there is a particular gilseller that is really worthy of some consideration (how ironic... ><). Her (or maybe a him...lol) name is Mengder, the Mithra THF we see running through Castle Oztroja. Her, along her partners, which I am certainly not naming all, are Joooo, Luchking, Calimitkeboss, Bettylily, Angle, Everblack, Bimaoshoa, and Ngueh.

They do not play by any rules. Ever seen a train of Yagudo Conquistadors and Lutenists from the higher plays at the entrance? Suprise...

I am asking people to consider a force of opposition. The anti-gilselling/anti-inflation LS, SeventhBlade, is picking up strength from the populace of Quetzalcoatl. We do not mean to stop gilselling, as that is impossible, but we can provide a breeze of relief from the inflation and camping stops being monopolized in a seemingly hurricane of treachery. Pearls have started to be given out.

*The LS is not attacking the gilsellers, but the act of gilselling. I have nothing against gilsellers, as it is a viable lifestyle, but would just like to give everyone else a chance.*

i don't understand, what is your course of action to stop gilselling besides giving out a pearl?

it seems to me the gil selling debate always ends in the same way
we need to stop it...

And as long as the price of gil drops, more idiots will buy it. Simple really. $25 for 1 mil. Minimum wage in most areas averages at $6.25/hr. 4 hours of "work" = 1 mil bought gil. How long does it take to farm 1 mil? I'd say minimum of 10 hours, and thats steady money not random luck on a NM money. So in the end it comes up to ethics of whether you want to put up the money you worked for so you can enjoy the game you play, or spend all the spare time you have farming so that someday you can enjoy the game you're paying $15/month to play. I don't endorse buying or selling gil in any way, but you can see from what I've said, its a very tempting way to get what you need. In an ideal world we'd be able to actually directly farm and or camp for the items we all need, but thats not gonna happen when people hog all the good mobs for profit to buy the items that they need to buy because they can't camp the mobs that drop those things. Or the other side of that is that sellers monopolize a mob because they KNOW idiots will pay mucho dinero at the AH for the drop, bc after all they can't get it themselves, and they can use this gil recieved from the AH sale to sell to people on the internet. In conclusion, the problem lies not only in "idiots" who buy gil, but in idiots who DEMAND the best gear at all times and don't have the time/ability/skill to camp it themselves, thus buying the stuff sellers camp for and making a product to sell to the first set of idiots.
 
I belive there is no way to stop the RMT, in FFXI.
Only solution i see is MPKIng the fuck out of them. Reason why, they wont GM call never will they GM call. I remmber Svina and Masa MPKing Sonicteam in Ordells for 3hrs. Not once did they call a GM, maybe cause they are gill -sellers and that would be bad on their side also... They just take it up the ass, for example. I would steal alot from the DRG Gill sellers (NMs) they never once did bitch and complain.

Didn't you know? This is the secret expansion. Final Fantasy has put in a real darkness and evil . . . gilsellers. The real call to a victory of the forces of good lies in the heart of each player who chooses to NOT buy gil, and to sell things at a fair price.

I move also for the formation of some organization that sells drops and items for more reasonable rates. Think of the possibilities, for example, if nothing sold for over twice what it could be sold to an NPC for. THAT would kill gilselling.

I don't know what the steps are, but I'm glad there's a shell making a difference. See you in the game!

All this "anti-inflation" rhetoric from someone who, when I shouted for a Mandibular Sickle in Jeuno(which is steady 45k on AH), /tell'd me saying that he wanted 70k? Seems a little odd... :roll:
 
Yeah i tend to agree with Valoran.... there must be something that we can do to, if not stop, at least slow down the inflation at the AH's. I also salute you guys in your efforts (whatever they may be).

There is strength in numbers and i'm sure recruiting would be easier if the path to success was laid out more plainly :wink: Good luck!
 
side not i was pissing of Mengder last night by claming them to the placeholder and not killing it. They tryed to MPK but that did not work all the other campers cheered me on and killed of the links. I would love to do this like i was telling every one at the spawn location i don;t care if i don't get claim just as long as those assholes don't claim it.
 
I have noticed that as our money loses value, I see less gil sellers.

There are several reasons for this.

The more currency you have circulating in the market, the more things cost. When things cost more, you are gonna get paid less for your gil when you sell it. Example: when I first started playin 1mil was about $100. now 1 mil is about $25

you can only hold 99,999,999 gil and if you end up selling gil in blocks of 40mil for like 50 bucks, then you are gonna need a lot more mules to store your gil on, and that will cost more money, cutting in on profit.

Some prices don't Fluctuate as much as others. Crystals Have Doubled in price over the past year. Makes it better for farming... right? Wrong.
as long as the Uber Equip keeps goin up so Rapidly, The gil sellers are gonna fight amongst themselves for the good money drops. Like PCC, O. Kote, Serket Ring and so on. Eventually, the number of NMS and HNMS you see being camped by sellers will decrease to 3 or 4 spots that have been found to be most profitable.

And at the end of Gil selling, our economy will be in ruins and 1 mil will be pocket change for people that haven't even reached lvl 50.

So if you want to fight them, that's what will make them go away. Good luck to ya.
