Help Desk/IT techs - Read if you've been having problems with the Windows Update site

I'm not sure if anyone else has been having problems of this sort like I have, but after months of putting up with the fuck ups from Microsoft's Update site, I found a fix.

Follow these easy steps:

1. Click Start > Run and type regsvr32 wuapi.dll

2. When you receive the message that the DLL has been registered, click OK
and perform the same steps for each of the following commands under Start >
Run:
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll

This should do the trick.

It works, because I'm looking at the computer that was originally having problems installing the updates, but is now installing them just fine.

I had a user with a Windows Media Player 11 update that this was occurring with. I ended up having to uninstall WMP11 and re-push it via SMS - MS's Systems Mgmt. Shit. >.>

I havnt had this issue, probably because we push the updates ourselves
