I’m sure that a lot of you guys have read the post about Cubswoo getting injured. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m his girlfriend, Jadey.
Ever since we got Final Fantasy XI about a year ago it has been what we spend a huge chunk of our spare time on. I know, a lot of you are thinking “Get a life.” And I’ll tell you the same thing I tell my parents when they say that: This is a hobby. We still take care of ourselves, we work, school comes first, our relationship comes first…we just enjoy playing the game and we enjoy it even more because we can play it together.
That enjoyment has changed since the injury. Matthew can’t play for more than a half hour without his hands and wrists becoming incredibly sore. It’s been so hard seeing him like this. So helpless. And it’s been even worse for him. Imagine if you had something that you really enjoyed doing and all of a sudden someone said that you couldn’t do it for 2-3 months!
The timing of this injury could not have been worse either…Cubs is a lvl 55 smn. He’s absolutely in love with the job, but the kind of player that he is dictates that he should stop leveling SMN, for one reason: he doesn’t have Fenrir. Level 54 SMN is when you get one of Fenrir’s best buffs, therefore, Cubs thinks of himself as gimped b/c he doesn’t have Fenrir. He’s tried to get people to help him with the fights, but he’s either been brushed off or people have told him that he needs to get another job to 75 to get Fenrir. Even if I were to spend the next couple of months getting my RDM to a high enough lvl to help, it wouldn’t do any good b/c those characters are on the same account.
A few days before he got hurt he had decided that his only option was that he had to get his WHM to 70-75 in order to get Fenrir for his main. This was really depressing for both of us b/c we knew that it would take a few months to get to that level until he could finally get to playing a job he actually likes to play. Now, all of a sudden, it’ll probably be at least half a year before he can do something he likes in the game
And so, I come to the request, the begging, the pleading, part of the post. Are there any high level players who would be willing to help me get Cubs the whispers and Fenrir? I feel partially responsible for his accident since I asked him to fill up the coolant tank. Please, please, please! It is so hard seeing him this way. It would make him feel so incredible to be able to start SMN again as soon as he gets better. Please…help me do this for him. I know how to play SMN in the battles, and Cubs would be there to watch and make sure I don’t screw up. I’ve watched the lvl 60 avatar battle videos, and I can do anything you need me to do. Please, please help us…
