Help me out! Intro movie..

Well I just got permission to change my project to FFXI. I basically just make a director website for class. The only thing I think I may need help with is getting the intro movie! I think it would badass to open up with that shit and taru's blasting a Behemoth and stuff! MMmmmmm...

If anyone can provide a way for me to get this I would appreciate it. I have no filesharing program so I cant really get them that way. I also use a PS2 for playing so i dont think I can just copy the disc.

Your best bet is to have someone with fraps make a recording of it. Trying to take it straight from the game data would be fairly difficult.
 
Fae, I have fraps and wouldn't mind recording the intro for you , you have to have some way to share files.... even if it's through aim??

let me know and i'll see what i can do for ya ^^

I've been trying for the past 20 minutes. I can't get it to work.

Everytime I press the video capture button (no matter what it is, since I"ve tried changing it three times) the movie get's skipped.

Hmmm... I dont want to go to Kazaa or anything like that cause they screw comps up badly. I have heard of P2P I think its called, maybe I can look into that.

Man I really HAVE to get this movie. I mean it is seriously badass ^^, and it would be a shame if I couldnt get it into the project. Maybe, If i cant send it over the comp, I could get it through snail mail or something. Would be happy to reimburse someone who could burn a copy if it comes to that.

Palidine, I only have hotmail and if I tried to install another program onto my moms comp I wouldnt hear the end of it. If you have hotmail thats great ^^.

Finally, to Lavi. I have to basically, just make a website using Director about something. It has to be rather in depth and I had originally chosen DBZ since I always wanted to do a project. But after a while, up until today actually, I decided that images, videos, and all that good stuff would be SOOO much easier to get of FFXI. I am also a lot more familiar with it as I havent watched DBZ in a year or two. Plus, now that I actually got started with it, I am having a good time with it. If I can, Ill post a link or something on here when I am done ^^. Its just entry level class and all, nothing too fancy, but you gotta start somewhere.

P2P is a type of program, not a program in and of itself. It stands for peer-to-peer. Which means you're downloading directly from other people's hard drives.

Bit Torrent, Kazaa, eMule, et, etc are all P2P programs.

I'll look on eMule and Kazaa later to see if I can hook you up with something. ^^
 
I think I found an http download for it.

I'm downloading it right now, so I'll edit this post when I find out if it's what you want or not.

Edit - Yep, this is it. It is kinda small though. But, if you maximize the video window, it still retains good quality.
 
Draciot that is awesome thanks a bumch. I am downloading it now to see if it will work for my project ^^. It will be about 800x640 are the dimensions. Again thanks for the help guys ^^.

Edit* What did you use to play it? I tried Window media and it wont go.

I use Media Player Classic to play all my files, except dvd's.

It's the best player out there, and totally free.
 
Hmm one other thing, do you know if this type of file is supported by Director. I am not in the computer lab atm, so I cannot check. I am kinda computer stupid compared to a lot of people, so I dont know if I will be able to get this into the program. I have never heard of a .rar :? Guess I can talk to my teacher on wednesday.

ohh, stupid me. You were talking about the .rar file. -_-

.rar is a compressed file, you need to use WinRar to un-compress them. Just righ clik the file, after installing winrar, and clikc extract files here or extract files (if you use the latter, you will get to choose exactly were to put the files).

Once extracted, there is a .mpeg movie file. ^^
 
Fae, in case you are wondering, that video is just the video it shows at the beginning right when you enter the ffxi full screen (unless you disabled it). Where the little kids are being chased by orcs.

Oh I know Krisy ^^. I just think it would be fun to have a nifty video (cause it sure was nifty) when you open into the site. If people want they can watch the video and if not, skip it. It is pretty much just for my portfolio anyways ^^.

Thanks for the links, I will have a few other videos throughout the sites as it will be pretty comprehensive on FFXI. Be showing some WS's and such ^^. I saw all of a monks today and man, you only see the same old standard 2 weapon skills throughout the game, but there are some really nifty animations.

If anyone has any super crazy videos or images (will be stealing Mai's of the Shadowlord 8) ) lemme know cause I just want to WOW the class ya know ^^.

Scroll down and click the Free button. After about 40 seconds you should get an option that says download xxxxxx.file. Click the link and download the file.
