I don't know where else to ask for this so there you go. I have Itunes Store on my PC, which also runs with Windows Media Center. So far the setup I made works fine, entered all my CDs into the PC, hooked it up with the Xbox 360 and voila, the whole library is on the TV for anyone to put music when I have people over.

Now my problem is this, I like Itunes to get music whenever I feel like it. It's fast and works great. But it's not compatible at all with Media Center, of course >.< Anything I purchase there I can't add it to my library in Media Center. Music or videos.

Is there any way I can convert those files into format supported by Media Player? Kinda sucks right now that I have to open 2 programs, depending on what I want to listen or watch. I tried a few from download.com but so far they all sucked balls.

Thanks in advance.

Its the price of downloading music the legitimate way. And why I hate Itunes.

Burn your itunes library to music CD, delete it from library, then rip it back to digital in MP3 format.
that will remove the copy protection / digital rights management and make it compatible with media center.

Yeah I tried that, but for some reason, the volume ends up being lower then music I ripped from original CDs. I tried not using the volume equalizer but same results.

This is one of the lovely "consumer-friendly" bonuses to DRM.

I don't know why your volume is lower on the re-ripped ones, anything with FairPlay (Apple's DRM) can safely be burned and ripped to remove the DRM. However I think just this month Apple announced they would allow anyone with an iTunes-purchased song to download a new version with no DRM for an extra 25-30¢ per song.

What are you ripping with? Have you tried Audiograbber? Awesome program, freeware, FreeDB to get song names and all. I've never tried Media Player's ripper so I don't know how it compares, but maybe ripping to .mp3 instead of .wmv will have some effect.

Use "Soundforge"

You can use that to rip the CD if you want to.

It also has a feature where you can set the volume for the soundfile, then you can save it in any sound format you wish.

(If you know what i mean, you'd find the largest spike in the sound grid and make it so it's below the red line in the volume sliders. That way it won't blow you're speakers or make a disgusting overdrive sound)

When you do modify a sound file in soundforge and if it should have static and cracking noises, then resample it.
I'd recommend resampling everything you extract from those CD's, Some output can be kinda large. I've had wave files that are 40 megs, so when saving it look into compression while saving for a more reasonable file size. It will sound very clean when you're done.
