So, the other day I find an ATI radeon 9100 PCI card that is sadly better than the card I had, so I pop it in, and install the drivers. Everything goes smoothly, except for the worrying abscence of my start bar, but far far worse is that fact that when I went to test it out on FFXI, it wouldn't. To explain: POL was extremely grainy and slow. When it finally worked its way to initializing FFXI, it immediately went back to POL and said an error had occured, failed to initialize Direct 3D, make sure your computer fits the required specifications. I have played FFXI on this very same card with older drivers than I have now for it. Does anyone know what's going on? If I can't figure it out, I'm going to have to go back to my lag-plagued but otherwise serviceable integrated card.
