Surprised to see our server is on defending in besieged.

Wiki mentioned some type of BCNM (could mean enter multiple times with various parties of 6 before the mobs inside are defeated). I note players are rushing out to help out.

Please login and help out if you are available =|

Let the JPs throw tons of bodies and XP at it overnight and we should have it back in ~12 hours.

Or we could get it back and get the nice title :p

SE really should make you not lose exp in the BCNM.... would make a lot more people willing to get it back

What they should REALLY do is make it so that dead NMs in that fight stay dead instead of respawning at ~33% health if you kill it but wipe. That, and make it so anyone, regardless of level, can help get it back. I mean they say Besieged is an event for those of all levels but recovering it is L75onry I guess?

Especially since "all levels" is a contributing factor to defeat, I agree.

Uzor's right though. Since it technically is part of Besieged, remove the EXP Penalty from death just like the defending fights.

There are 2 likely locations of the BC plus the fact that the key items have to be farmed. That is really a mess and tons of work to get the Astral Candy back. @@);;

What happened? Was it less than 200 ppl in zone when the undead attacked?

SE expects alot of death at the BC and just consider the timing of 14 hrs to get it back, I wonder how much xp will lose in the mean while. At this time, I trust the JP will rush out to clear the undead during their prime hour.

I support to have these BC (regaining the Astral Candy) xp lose-free

Or, you know, make it drop shit so it's actually worth doing.

150 people at start of Besieged. 300 people at end. Factor in that it was the undead, and the usual assortment of people on lowbie jobs (... if only Besieged gave limit points ...), not to mention mages cheerfully meleeing for weapon skillups.

Not much of a surprise that we lost, really. :P

One thing I really hate is when I try to stick with one of the Serpent Generals and I can't even target him/her because of the lag. I spent one entire besieged with Mihli and once I was able to target her, I could keep her locked on no matter where she went. But... as soon as I needed to rest, I had to stop targeting in order to rest and she immediately disappeared. She did reappear a minute later, long enough for me to target her, see her HP drop and die before I had enough time to even stand up. They need to figure out a way to make it so Generals are easily loadable like mobs are. For some stupid reason, mobs will load in on my screen long before any player or NPC. Don't know how many times I've gone to the area where a general is only to get the message "General ### has fallen" which can easily be avoided if they'd just load in.

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I have a habit of staying on Rughadjeen's bum and if I need to heal, I just type in /heal. Works most times if my memory serves me correctly.

I haven't been in recent Besieges (it just doesn't happen when I'm on) so I could be wrong

Problem is, you can't rest while locking on. However, you can break lock, start resting, then relock, but once they disappear due to the exceeded character count in your immediate area, lock is broken.

I agree with Lavi, and I've always said that there needs to be prioritization when rendering. Mob > Party/Alliance/Your personal pet > Important NPCs > Pary/Alliance members pets > anyone else.

If you keep your main target pointer on a general (or anyone else for that matter), they won't disappear from your screen until they are too far away to target (that's 50 distance on Windower, and for everyone else it's basically when someone is so far they disappear even in the best of circumstances). Well, that, or they die and despawn, or you ignore the "if" part of the previous sentence and change your target. :P

You don't need to do target lock-on. And you can rest just fine with a macro that, say, goes:
/equip Main "Dark Staff"
/heal on

(/heal on vs. just plain /heal, means it'll make you kneel, but hitting it twice won't make you kneel and then stand up again.)

You'll need to use <st> or <stpc> or <stnpc> to cast any spells on anyone *besides* your target serpent general without losing your target, of course. And I agree, they should adjust it so NPCs are up there with mobs (or at least party members) in visibility priority.

Hey I was a mage there, and I wasn't meleeing. I was spamming protect/shell on NPC's for enhancing skill ups and dia on mobs for enfeebling skill ups, at least until we were down to one general. Then I actually starting killing stuff.

The problem with going to recover it is that the reward isn't that great, I actually like it when we don't have the cadence. People say "We don't get the 15% bonus to exp and have to walk a long way to camp, so let's exp somewhere else" or they don't even seek to begin with. Half the people at merit camps means more exp than the 15% bonus and auto refresh on your mages.

On a side note the mirrors and prisoner recoveries are the same way. Kill a few mobs guarding a mirror, then the mirror itself, and a rare/ex item drops. That's one for your whole party, and only the person that gets it gets the reward. Trade it to a gate guard for 100 whole IS. I solo'ed a mirror guard a while back, he gave me 34 IS, then I turn around and get 100 for the mirror. That's just not worth it. My understanding is that prisoners are similar, in that only the person that sets them free gets the IS, and it's also a small amount.

Edit - and yes, "/heal on" is great

Prisoners should remain a singular reward, as it's really not that difficult to free them, since you're more than likely going to have keys from EXPing.

But yeah, Mirrors need to drop like Delkfutt's Keys. Enough for a party, but since they're Rare, you can only get one for yourself.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm guilty of that too. I just restrain myself to only doing that when we had the numbers (like 500-700, not 100-300). Low number Besieged = Vil camps out by a general. High number Besieged = Vil wanders off looking for skillups (or people to cure-bomb for Besieged exp/IS credit now that my skills are capped).

Yea, the undead killed us considerably fast after 15 minutes. We were at 3 generals, which dropped to 1 in under 15 seconds since 2 general fell almost right after each other. But we got it back, so no worried. :D

WOOT MEAT SHIELDS WHO DID THE BC!

<good job> and <cheer>

Its nice to see we have it back this morning ^^)b.

Actually, just a possible suggestion to SE, players should be allowed to gather force and launch attack onto a base (i.e. mob city) like they did to us and in such battle, nil xp lost. That is, the players term to besiege the mob's city/base =).

Imagine, 700 players attacking the mob's city, that will be some sort of battle, lol.

I agree that its quite discouraging and the reward for all these funful activities are not generous enough. SE shouldnt be so mean and enjoy sitting back watching us doing the xp grind again and again @@);;

:20bux: says people ignored the bhoots and went after the NMs. And gangbanged the Draugers.

Seriously, Draugers die extremely fast with only an alliances worth of people fighting them, and Mages on the catwalks to avoid Blood Saber and Malediction. Bhoots have a Death TP move, you need to fight them. It's been 4 months, people should know by now.
