Help Please! Journey Abroad

Hey All!

So - I went to do the Journey Abroad fame mission last night...I went all the way to Windy to talk to the Sandy Consulate - where the girl told me to talk to the Ambasador (or whatever) in the room to the right - I did, (supposedly he was supposed to tell me to collect shields or something from Giddeus) and he said that he had "nothing to say to me"...so I talked to every NPC in the consulate (just in case) and NOTHING....I asked my Linkshell what was up, (since I had checked my missions in my menu, and I DID have this mission...) and they said "Did you talk to the guy in sandy at the cathedral?" grrrr...no - so I went all the way back to Sandy to the cathedral. I spoke to EVERY NPC there - nothing. I went back to the NPC who gave the mission - and he was like "Don't come back until you are done with Journey Abroad" BUT I CANNOT SEEM TO START JOURNEY ABROAD!!!!!!!!! I am soooo frustrated - I wasted 2 days running back and forth for NOTHING - please help!!!! What am I doing wrong?!?!?!?

Is it mission 2-3?

The npc you have to talk to before you leave is Halver in Chateau D'oraguille.
You should make sure that you obtain the key item from him, it is something like an "intro letter to consulate" . If you do not have that key item, the npcs at Sandy Consulate won't talk to you.

yeah our linkshell tends to be a little misleading and well known for mixed messages and backwards and inside out info on quests
