I have a wired Xbox controller, but the controls are somewhat funny. I was wonder if there was a program i could download or is it stuck like this?

Thanks in advance.

You can assign buttons to the controller via ffxi config located:

Start > All programs > Playonline > FFXI > FFXI config

Note: ffxi must be off to do this

I'm curious as to how you're getting a wired XBox controller to work on your computer at all. The plug isn't compatible with anything on a computer.

I know when I got my PC Xbox controller I had to download a special driver so that I could use the triggers as macro buttons. The driver itself is called XBCD, and there is a certain way you have to install it as well, I used version 1.07 when I played, and believe me it's a lot easier to use the triggers as macro buttons then the bumper buttons.

I think if I understand correctly.. it's a computer controller made to mimic the xbox controller. I tried to use this for computer as well, but as you said some of the controls are off and I could never get it programmed to work correctly. I finally gave up. =(

What? Are the bumpers hard to press for you or do have problems finding a good setup? I really don't have a problem using the bumpers for macros... You just have to play around with the buttons a bit.

I think there are plenty enough face buttons to get by without needing the triggers.

Use a wiimote. Problem solved. ;)

Seriously though, Moink said it 2nd post.

Well maybe it's not a lot easier to use the triggers as macro buttons, but in doing so you free up the bumpers to use for other things, for instance I used my left bumper for auto-run and my right bumper for my vent bind key.

Heh, I have auto-ran on the left stick button and vent bind to start. Didn't really feel I needed a hide windows button because it's already bound on the keyboard next to the print screen button.
