Ever since I finished downloading and installing the update I have not been able to log onto FFXI at all. I hit the Play button, the little "don't let FFXI control your life" warning pops up and I choose to continue. The screen goes black like FFXI is about to start, but instead of going to the "Accept/Decline" screen, I keep getting the following error:

"Terminated as error occured in FINAL FANTASY XI. Failed to initiallize Direct3D. Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run FINAL FANTASY XI. (-1)"

Everything worked fine before the patch, and the prime reason this computer was bought was from FFXI, so obviously it can play it. I redownloaded my display drivers but that did not help. I don't have any clue what's going on. :banghead3:

Advice would be appreciated. I really want to be able to enjoy TAU when I get it tomorrow...

Run file checker for ffxi. Most likely culprit is a corrupt update.

Just did that. The file checker didn't find anything corrupt. -_-

Did you use windower before SE broke it? If so you need to reset your resolution, Go to FFXI config thing and change it to your normal resolution.

I had the same problem but it works fine now.

Hmm. I do remember fiddling with the resolution sometime before, maybe that's it.
