this maybe should have gone into computer help but as it's math and not computing I'm putting it here.
I'm working on some homework in which I am doing some binary conversions/math, and since my professors office hours are already gone and my homework is due tomorrow I was wondering if anyone out there could help.
We are working on signed magnitude/one's compliment/two's compliment and I think I've done everything right... but want someone who knows this stuff backwards and forewards to tell me if I've done it right.
First 2 problems I need to convert a base 10 number to it's Signed magnitude, one's compliment, and two's compliment. All binary numbers are 8 bits including sign bit.
1. -37 I got:
Signed Magnitude: 10100101
One's comp: 11011010
Two's comp: 11011011
2. +16 I got
Signed Magnitude: 00010000
One's comp: 00010000
Two's comp: 00010000
For the second two we are given a single binary number and must translate it assuming it's A) a signed Magnitude, B) a ones compliment, and C) a two's compliment
3. 10100101 I got
A) -37
B) -90
C) -91
4. 01011010 I got
A) 90
B) 90
C) 90
Now I'm kinda sure I got this right but something in my mind is telling me I missed/forgot something. Thank you to anyone bored/excited enough to help ^^
