My cuz tried starting up the game on his comp. He got playonline up and all the new patches and updates downloaded but when we hit play an error comes up: Terminated as error occured in FFXI. Failed to recognize Hardware TnL. ? does anyone know what this means? He's got all the specified requirements expcept for MAYBE the graphics card. is that the problem? :?

Yup, the gfx card doesn't support TnL. Perhaps you can disable TnL in the FFXI setup, if you can't then it is time to fork out some US$60 for a gfx card that does the job.

I tried to get to the FFXI config but it was blank...! what is that about...?

I ran into that once when trying to install on an old laptop. There's really only two things you can do:
1) See if upgrading all the drivers and directX to the latest version and hoping it works
2) Get a new video card

yeah, I think he's opting for the new video card

I had the same problem. I just switched out the video card and that took care of it.

yeah I had to replace Falkners stock card with something a lil more beefier and then he was on the road

I bought a PS when FFVII Came out...I bought a PS2 When FFX came out...I bought a new $2000 tower when FFXI came out

I hate you Square

it's just a conspiracy
