Announcement Helpful Post Ratings

In addition to the new "reputation" system return, we are also adding a new addition called the Helpful Post Ratings system. Much like newegg and some other websites, it will be a small little yes or no option on the bottom which will allow the user to select if the post is helpful or not.

Now I know people would like to see it so that if there is enough negative, the post will be hidden or deleted, however seeing as though the bandwagon on this site happens easier then penetration on a prostitute after a 30 man gang bang I didn't look into that feature.

The helpful posts system is not used on any remaining hidden forums and they do not work in social groups. You will get a notification when you receive a yes or no option but I will be working to get that removed. It just seems annoying to keep seeing that notification if you have a lot of helpful posts. So unless I hear a lot of rawrs about not taking it away I would expect the notification setting to be turned off.

If there are any issues or concerns feel free to reply.
 
I like it, but is it possible to make it where it doesn't list a notification every time someone votes your post?

I wouldn't like to post something, being the amazing person that I am, and waking up to 150 notifications in praise of my genius. Not like I don't like praise, I just don't like the huge inbox.

I tend to think of notifications as a notice that I got a PM or a visitor message, or something.

How much accountability is there for this system? Meaning, can the mods/admins see who rates who? If we have suspicions that someone is following us around clicking "No" just to be an arse, can anyone look into our suspicions?
