I think he has a good idea, that seems a fairly active forum in which the Xbox 360 players of FFXI are gathering, so just as the post I linked to says.. visit the site, register, spread GOOD information. Try to get the people educated before they start bitching about being morons here on the retail server

The full version's supposed to ship the same time as ToAU, as I've heard.

I will register for that forum, becuase I do like helping people. Plus I'll have one more place to kill time at work.

However, it is my impression that the 360 users will have their own servers. Is this not correct?

I'm not sure, all I know from looking around that forum is that there are very few people posting accurate information about the game, and a lot of people discouraged. That's why I posted it here, hoping the great players of Quetz could hop on there and give some advice.

You just gave me a reason to lvl SMN. Just remember to become a mentor to the newbs and warn them of the *cough* NM's *cough* that fly around in Ronfaure every now and then and that if they don't run away they will die.

I don't know how, but when I play in the beta people somehow know that I have played before, and... they... cling. In one night I taught 30+ people how to fish. By the end they had pissed me off because on the 31st person I taught that night none of the other 30 I had taught prior were willing to help anybody out. So I went to a empty area and fished in peace. While soloing a little I end up showing people how to start making money, importance of signet, crystals, repeatable quests, fame, CP, do missions, ect. In groups things go horribly wrong for the most part. The good thing is, for now at least, is that people seem willing to listen to advice.

I will say that my friends list on Beta (hydra) eclipses my friends list on Quetzy.

I love helping new players Its great when you get a true newbie and can show them everything. A lot of times I will just accept a friend invite without putting them on my own list so it doesnt get cluttered and I'll get tells for information weeks later. I think the launch is going to be fun. I remember when US version came out leveling with a JP samurai in BB-Penninsula, all the JP were busy doing the new jobs. He taught me a lot, and I've always passed that on. So when the launch happens its time to repay the favor again. Gogo COR/NIN! (Bah we all know its gonna be COR/WHM)

As a new player you should get my valentines day wand for me! Since you're a girl you can seduce them too for the items!

I'm gonna do every single prank ive heard about people using on newbies.

First i'm gonna take the sandy newbs to see vitra then warp out.

Later on after theyve gotten to about level 10 i'm gonna camp the shattered telepoint and shout at every newbie that goes near it "OMG you broke the telepoint!! Now we can't teleport anywhere and have to chocobo everywhere. Do you know what you've done?!?!?!? Anyone that tries to teleport here is gonna be stuck between areas with nowhere to go now. ect.. ect.. ect.."

I'd also teach them the most important thing to remember... Valkurm is evil incarnate so dont go anywhere near there.
