When you put a pt together, and note that 3/4 of the party is level 53, don't invite a level 56 person, and then get to the camp, and act suprised when we start pulling in 70-130 xp per kill instead of the 200-250 you're used to.

When you camp in Kuftal Tunnel, and you don't have silent oils, and you need the WHM to sneak /invis you pending on dragon through the area to camp, don't go running off by yourself and then get pissed when you can't move anywhere and might get aggro because your shit wore off.

if you're putting a pt together, and you invite a white mage, and then ask the white mage if they want to take over the pt, invite people and give lead, then get disconnected four times within 20 minutes, don't bring silent oils and then stay at the zone without telling the whm or rdm that your sneak wore off, and when you get kicked from the pt the last time you disband and they find another member, don't get pissed off that they should reinvite you on the simple basis that YOU started the pt.. asking a whm to join a pt and then passing lead to the whm is not starting a pt.

/end rant.

Dude, did you just type Re-Re?

^^

You made it sound like the gap was the reason the party was so bad at first XD
But yeh, that level is simply way too high for Kuftal...

Yea, thats a huge pet-peeve of mine when you have a full pty of even lvls and one person is two to three lvls higher than everyone else.

I would have rather instead of the leader inviting that lvl 56 they would have invited a lvl 51. The person would be slightly more gimpy but at least when they lvl up they arent killing exp >.<

Yeah. Stupid me didnt even look at the level gap until we got to camp, but I only had 2 hours to party and everyone knew it so I wasn't about to just disband and look for another one. I was being a jerk and just tyring to get 2k for my level (though i really did have to go after 2 hours =oP)

Other than that the party was really good, we had a great set up and would have pwned mobs there. The thing that pissed me off the most is just that after he saw that we were getting shit xp, the leader decided he had to go soon and stopped doing his job (didnt refresh me, just overall played like shit). This took us even longer to get the crappy xp that we were getting already.

Its like, hey genious.. what did you expect.

When I had mentiond to him, "you know, you invited a level 56 person what did you expect" he said "yeah but its only one person".

Duh.

The other two rants are from another party. We dropped two members and got new ones, and started pwning shit hardcore.. so bogie, good rng but kind of stuck up about the situation, you should be sorry you left us, we were getting a good 4-5 k per hour if you take out all the people who trained crabs on us. -.-

I hate when people do that... Pts where the range is greater then a lvl (IE 53-54) Just piss me off in general unless it is the healer who is a lvl or 2 lower then the rest, otherwise someone is gimping something. Either a melee who can not hit, or a blm/rdm who gets resisted, or someone making the exp suck.

Parties where one person is too high suck.

Parties where one person is too low don't generally suck as bad, if at all. I was a lvl 41 in a lvl 44 pt tonight (BRD) with some pretty sweet exp gains in QC :)

/agree

Yea the thing wiith BRD is they do not cast many things on the enemy, they are mainly casting on their party members who do not resist.

Reasons why I detest leading PTs. I'd rather lead a PT to a place after already lvling another job there. That way I know as much as possible about the place, the xp, and how the PT setup will do there. I'm also guilty of prefering JP parties because they seem to always know exactly where to go.

But I try to understand why others lead. Many can't find PTs so they start one. Usually, I look at the job of the person trying to invite me. Some, like Truten (MNK) are really good. Others are not so hot so you lower your expectations. But there are also times when its difficult to find that perfect 6th member so PTs end up settling for a job or lvl that is less than desireable. Really, the highest lvl in the PT should be the tank. I wish you would tell us more about the person highest on the lvl range. That would help. Otherwise, just hearing it from you I think you're right to rant. Someone wasting hours of your life because they can't handle leading PTs does tend to suck.

The person on the highest level range wasn't the leader - he/she was a tank, and japanese, and a ninja. A very good ninja at that. The person who was the leader was a level 54 red mage. I don't know. Maybe the person who was leader thought that all us level 53's were close to leveling when he invited us all, however, I mentioned that I had to go in 2 hours before the party even started, so they should have known that I an the other level 53 players may not level in that time. The other issue is, once the leader saw what crappy xp we were getting, they decided that they wanted to leave very soon, which leads me to think that they realized that they put together a crappy party and wanted to just get out of it.

He at first had asked me to level in the Tomb, but after getting raped by pops there recently I was in no mood, so i mentioned Kuftal. The tank was the last person to be added to the group (the level 56), so in my eyes it was just a lousy way to start a party, when everyone agreed to go to kuftal before the tank was even added.

Remember though, my first rant about the level gap is with one party, the other two are from a different party that I was in, where I think the samurai (who started the pt and then asked me to be leader) just wanted to insure that they got a party, so invited the white mage first. If you don't want to lead and put the pt together, don't do it.

I don't mind leading parties, even as a white mage. I usually level with one other person constantly, so I am usually building a party around the two of us. I do run into issues sometimes about where to go or where to camp, but other members of the party are usually very willing to put in their .02. Recenlty though, I have done a poor job, so I've been keeping my flag up with the mention that I come with a thf.

just sloppy playing is all. I just hate it when people can't own up to their mistakes and just decide that they're going to leave and waste everyone's time. /shrug.

/em tries to resist the Bard's song... :x

/em fails...

Being that I'm a DRG, I have to make pts more often then I'd like, but generally, I try to keep my level range very close, like say, 62-63, or if at all possible 62-62. It's very simple that way. Oh, and if yer gonna invite then pass lead, that's stupid, just don't do it. don't do it, go half assed then ask someone else too. Thanks.

I usually don't care actually... unless I'm in dire need of exp. I usually find that I'm the one 2-3 lvls higher than the pt >_> but then I leave when the replacement comes.
