Hey i am starting ff 11 today and would like to know if there are people with some extra items or gil that they could lend me i will pay you back in the future so thanks if you do i will be on marajades server because i know him he may or not help me out though he is cheap and if you would like to help me make a post so i can reply becasue i will not start till about 5 or 6 pm here
 
everyone starts with nothing in the game, farm crystals and other items, youll have enough for your early equipment soon enough. :D

No shortcuts in FFXI. We all had to work for what we got, so should you. Don't worry though, you'll get up to your friend's lvl in no time if you work hard at it.^^

I started out behind my friends when I joined this game as well, plus they played more than me. But it does come in handy when they're a high lvl and you want help with a mission. >_>

Seriously, hit the fields outside of town and you'll get to level 10 pretty easily. At that point, you should be able to afford something at least decent. Just don't squander it all on little Taru midget hookers.


Nobody that calls themselves a friend will laugh at you because you just started. I started out behind my friends and I am still behind them. The thing is, you'll make friends and you'll find people that play about as often as you do.
 
i know what stufft to buy i am starting as a mithra warroir and then level up theives level then w/e else i can i will try blackmage

If they are laughing at you, that doesnt make them very good friends IMHO.

If you hate the $$$ making aspect, quit now, it gets much worse :(

Honestly though, good luck, and follow Sneaky's advice for starting up.
 
Nothing is free in this game. If you have friends in the game, why not ask them for money instead of strangers?
 
lol. cheap. They're not cheap.

It takes a lot of time and effort to get to certain points in this game. There are a lot of things to learn. Your friends just want to insure that you learn what you need to about the game - which includes the issues of how to get gil and items that you need.

A lot of people become very bad players from having things handed to them. I'm sure your friends are just trying to make sure this doesn't happen to you.

Here's an idea though...Maybe just stop asking. In the time you've begged for money, you could have gotten enough money for your next gear and gotten to that level. Hop to it, mister!
 
If your on tonight send me a tell. I have several jobs I need to get started, and it always helps to group with someone at first. I won't be able to "give" you anything, but if you get in trouble you can call for help, and I can step in. Dying doesn't have any effect on you till lvl 4, and very little effect untill around lvl 10 or so, but it is still annoying.


Let me know if you want some company.

asia! i's the best of friends to have! this is a guy me and mara have coerced into plyaing, he went through hell to get a credit card and the kid has Cystic Fibrosis so what the heck, he might as well enjoy himself while he can... nobody can smell fartga IV through the computer (but it might travel down wind)
he's posting this during his update (initial so it's about 4 hours for him) and his computer ironically needs a better video card to run it, he might be playing from my house or mara's as time permits...
