DANG THESE BOOKS... they're ruining my life. All I do is read read read lately...... I started originally with nothing to do so I started Goblet of Fire. Then my coworkers were all up in arms about it.

"What are you doing?"
"You can't start reading the 4th!!"
"You've never read the first three!? You better do that."

Of course this was after everyone admitted to it like they had the plague.

"What? You like Harry Potter too? I thought I was the only one."
"I was scared if I admitted it, everyone would be..don't talk to her anymore"

I'm like..fine fine..get off my back. Start reading them.. and I couldn't put them down. That was three weeks ago. I'm now on Order of the Phoenix. And I have to finish this before the new one comes out....

Well, I thought i'd just post it. See if there are any open or want to come out and admit they are Potter fans...lol

Naw I dont like Harry Potter and Yes I ahve read a alittle of the first but it didnt grab my attention. Idk why, but the whole wizard world enevr did it for me ; ; I have seen the movies and were blah also ; ;
You should try reading Redwall, they are very good books^^
 
I love the Harry Potters.

I wanted one day to read something, and while in the supermarket a saw a bunch of the "Goblet of Fires" on display, and decided to try it out. I got hooked. After I read it, I proceeded to buy the 1st to the third.

Then I bought the LOTR series and The Hobbit and Silmarillion... then Chronicles of Narnia. And then I discovered a game called FFXI... and now I'm here.

Aaaanyways, the Harry Potter series is just gripping, you actually hate the baddies and come to believe there's actually such a thing as magic. (It messed with my head big time.) It's all just so fun and in-depth. It's unique.

I love how each next book is better than the last. It just gets better and better. And... I must warn you, the fifth book is dark and desperating. You'll REALLY, REALLY hate Umbridge. I hate her more than Voldemort...
 
I Never Really got into the Harry Potter books, the movies were ok and I like watching them but, I'm a bigger fan of the Amulet of Samarkland seris, the Eragon Seris, and other small books like Goblin wood

Harry Potter books aren't like the movies... at all. They changed so much, they took away Peeves, for humanity's sake. :cry:
 
I read 3 then said shit what the hell am i doing this is a waist of time ill just watch the movies lol.... I dont like the books and the movies annoy me but hell its good entertianment.

Blasphemy!!! hehe.. i don't know.. I really enjoy the books...way more than the movies.. I don't even know how the movies can do them justice....

Are you kidding they are as close to the books as can be allowed to keep PG13 ratings. The books are great (have read all 4 and the 5th comes out this month). The 4th movie comes out this fall 3 hour long cut form 6. If you know anything about the 4th book you know that they had to cut alot. I dont see how anyone playing a mage can not get into these books there great for all readers. This series has out sold the bible (king James Version) ill provide that link later.
 
Heh, my whole family loves the Harry Potter books. I think we're getting like 3 of them so that there's less waiting for some people to read them.

The third movie was crap compared to the book, they didn't show and changed a large portion of the book for the movie. Plus, the werewolf looked like crap.
 
The third movie is the best of all three of them. The first movie was... 1/78th of the book and the second movie was slightly better.

The new Dumbledore is much more how I imagined him to be, the last one (God rest his soul, though) was crap. He wasn't energetic at all, he was an old man that could barely talk with a rhythm.
 
about the only thing my sister is good for is camping out for those books.

she buys em, i read them when she gets bored, and they sit on my shelf. Good deal really.

Chamber of Secrets
Prisoner of Azkaban
Goblet of Fire
Order of the Pheonix

And Harry Potter is just to damn good . . . but I'm not some sort of freak who owns a Slytherin shirt or some crazy shit like that
