Hi.

If being a real sport means an abundance of commercials and players becoming sellouts, it involves an hour of clock time but takes 4 hours to complete a game, then no, I don't want to be a real sport.

Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays... :)

I live in Canada and even I hate hockey. Srsly.

[keep your voice down, you are in Canada afterall]

Seriously though, I'm not into watching sports; but as far as playing goes, hockey was the most fun. I played inter mural floor hockey in college and really enjoyed it. I could never play real hockey because I could never even stand up on skates.

I was always on defense and it was ridiculously easy because they didn't have any rules against "icing" the puck. As soon as I got the puck I'd just slam it all the way to the other side. My fondest memory of it was getting heckled by two girl-friends of the opposing team in a "play-off" game. We had a man in the penalty box, and two of the other team did a fast break-away towards our goal. They were being fancy, passing the puck back and forth as they ran. It looked really cool on their part... until I ran right down the center of them and came out with the puck. That was the end of the heckling.

I was ruthless in floor hockey when I was in high school. I was the only girl who actually played in gym class (translation: I was the only girl who didn't just stand in the middle of the floor looking bored and/or gossiping about hair and makeup) and it drove the macho assholes in my class nuts whenever I'd check them into a wall. One guy actually got so pissed he swung his stick at me and caught me on the hand, gashed it open. He got called out for high-sticking and got to spend the rest of the day sitting with the girls who were pregnant or having "womanly issues" while I kept playing after a bandage from the nurses office.

lol I was the only girl on an all boys rugby team. Same with soccer. And no, I'm not butch, I'm 5'11" and 129 lbs. Thats why I stopped playing defense lol. It hurt too much :(

I played Football, Hockey and Baseball in Leagues. I was forced to play soccer (which I loathe with a fiery passion) in gym. Baseball was always my favorite though. In like six-seven years of playing I always clean up hitter. I stopped Football and Hockey after 1 season (well technically not even that, since I was injured and sat out the rest of both seasons) and didn't sign up again. I wanted to be a running back but that wouldn't let me. ; ;

I was decidedly non-feminine in high school. I was involved in drama- as stage crew. (Even at just 5'4" and 120 pounds I could heft a 4' by 8' stage platform by myself). I always wore jeans, flannel shirts and combat boots. (Though the flannel was mainly for warmth, as my hypothyroidism makes me cold all the time). I never wore makeup or styled my hair. Add all this into the fact that I was a hardass who actually participated in gym class, and I never dated anyone who actually went to my high school, it's no wonder that by the time I graduated half the school thought I was lesbian.

Of course, my intentional play-flirting with my best friend in front of the school's biggest gossip didn't hurt that image either. I still chuckle when I think of the look on his face.

I was too fat to play any sports. :(

I ran 16.1M in High school Junior year, and during that run, I decided I never wanted to do that again, and that I would do everything in my power to sit on my ass as much as possible.

Live the dream kids, live the dream

I didn't play anything professionally in school but I played a lot of basketball and football with the kids in the neighborhood back in the day. Obviously they weren't all that good either since I was considered one of the top picks in the neighborhood, lol.

Only thing I really could do in school that I liked/was good at was drama. Only sports that were open to girls in my district were swimming, volleyball, and golf. Blech.

But I was damn good at stage crew. In fact, our crew won the Golden Hammer at the IHSA state competition my sophomore year, when the entire crew consisted of myself and 3 of my friends. The way it works is there are 3 timed phases for the crew: load in (getting your set off the truck and into the taped-off area) set up (taking the set from the designated area and setting it up for performance on stage) and breakdown (taking the set off the stage). You have to complete all 3 phases with a total time under 30 minutes. We did ours in 16 minutes; the breakdown itself was actually 45 seconds, lol.

Hmmm...

Volleyball
Basketball
Rugby
Soccer
Track and field (javelin, discus, high jump, long jump, hurdles and 4x100)
Tennis
and Ballet (for 10 years)

I was a jock in highschool though, never really wore make up until after I graduated. Made fun of the girls that did. Now I look like a girly girl :/

High school... not so much. College? Totally a blast. I kept in shape during college by playing DDR, lol. Only stopped playing when I fractured my hip, then playing DDR again was pretty much the first thing I did after I got my leg back in shape again. I should get back into playing that again, it's a good workout when you play the crazy hard shit like I did.

Lol awesome hockey stories. I have a ton as well. I'll share a bit but keep it short.

First time I really got into hockey was when I was in middle school and we played floor hockey in gym. Of course all the kids that ACTUALLY played hockey ended up on one team and all the kids that didn't know anything played on the other team. I don't really know what happened, but something inside me sort of snapped and I really wanted to stick it to these assholes. I ended up standing at center and I looked over and Dwight Thompson was at my wing and I sighed. I told Dwight, "Yo, switch to the other wing, tell Jacob to come to my right." "But I want to be right wing." "And I want to win."

Jacob Mahoney was one out of probably 9 black kids in my entire school since I grew up in a suburban middle class town, though my rap parodies may suggest otherwise. It was kind of natural that the "real hockey players" wouldn't pick him. The dude was quick as fuck. I wanted him on the right wing because it just felt weird for me to pass with the face of my stick blade and more natural to dish something off backhand. I ended netting myself a hat trick and sending four assists to Jacob. We weren't flash and finness, but we were just fast and we were getting tons of shots on. We ended up losing 11-9. I think lame Dwight ended up getting that other goal. It was probably the most fun I had had in my entire life at that point. The next time in gym the hockey kids picked me and I told them I wasn't going to their team without Jake, lol.

There was another time a couple years ago where my ex-fiancee was in town visiting some of her folks. (Yeah, ex-fi, long story in its own) I was still somewhat sweet on her so I wanted to play one hell of a tough game that I brought her to. She always really got off on my being really physical. In fact, she once video taped a game I was in and every time I took a slapshot, threw a big check or broke up some kind of two on one, you could hear her in the camera ".. ahhhh."

I played defense, or defence as Mirewen would spell it, that day. It was a pretty fucking epic game. I mean, my team didn't have the best players that day, the teams were pretty even but I managed to get everyone really psyched up and we worked hard. I kept everyone away from my goalie and if he got some kinda stick jabbed at him when he was holding onto the ball, there was some sorry mother fucker that was going to end up on his ass. A lot of my friends didn't like playing with me because I got so serious and intense a lot of times, but when the first period starts, the only friends you have are wearing the same colored jersey as you are.

I was blocking shots left and right that I even think the goalie started getting bored. Whenever the ball would trickle into our own zone, I was catching all the forwards with sharp passes from the blue line and I even hammered two home from the point myself. Until the middle of the second period, the game was really tight. I think it was tied 5-5 at the time and then John Bart comes right down the middle with his head down. Oooooh big mistake lol. My favorite hockey player ever is Scott Stevens and he was a brick wall defenseman that would punish people that made any kind of mistake like that. Bart was watching the ball and I was watching him from the opposite side he was coming down from. I saw my chance as he skated into our zone and it was suddenly BAM! I felt his upper body hit my shoulder and in a split second heard *thud* I totally leveled the guy out. I'm no monster, I'm 5'6" with a little bit of weight, but my legs are strong as shit and I just raised my shoulder up into him and he had no idea it was coming. It wasn't very nice, but it got done what I really wanted from it.

After that point, the other team stopped caring about the score and it was all about getting revenge on 'Dino. Man, I loved it. I love being the instigator that throws the other team completely off their game and also lights a fire under their own team's asses. The other team didn't score another single goal for the rest of the game and we ended up winning 17-5. Their forwards were only concerned about laying a forecheck on me as they skated in, their D-men were slow to join the rush and after the first 5 consecutive goals it was easy to tell their goalie had given up.

Thirty seconds left in the game and until the games over, I'm still going full blast with whatever is in my tank. Donald Tyson comes down my right side, the side I'm on. This kid had the meanest, hardest, most inaccurate slapshot out of all of us, but this day he was very accurate. Although it seriously wasn't intentional, despite the events that transpired (he always knew what I was trying to do lol) , he rips a whistling shot and instinctively I get in the way to block it. All you heard was *thwap* *thud* That was the sound of me taking a slapshot to the balls and hitting the floor instantly. I mean, it was stupid. We had a 12 goal lead and I'm still getting in the way of shots... I had never felt pain like this, especially since it was the ONE time I happened to forget my cup. Out of all of us, I always wore shin guards, a cup, leg pads, hockey gloves even though it was just floor hockey. I knew if I didn't I would go home a mess. I forget my cup this one day and of course its the one time I take a shot right to the balls.

My buddy Nick comes over and asks if I'm ok. What a dumb question. "Get the fuck away from me" was my answer.

Kristy really was quite turned on that night and yeah, I did get laid. I had sex with Kate though, not Kristy, lol.

So what... am I taller than everyone? Please tell me one of you is 6 ft +
