I've been cleaning out my room some the past week, and today I found an old wallet I used. A very nice, leather wallet that I had decided to use in replacement of my old, crappy, paper wallet.
So I was in the process of transferring my license and money to my new wallet, when I found one of these babies:

And that was my luck for the day. I just had to tell someone before I forget where I put it again.

I have one of those, you're not special.
D:

Those may not be to rare you can ask for one at the bank but, not something you see everyday. Almost as rare as a dollar coin or a 50 cent piece. very nice find.

My great grandmother gave Alyada, myself, and our little sister one of these when we used to go to Kentucky. I think she also gave us coins with our birthdays on them too. Its neat to find stuff like this.

Someone at a sheetz gas station mistakenly gave me a dollar coin instead of a quarter when the cashier gave me back change. Been holding on to it since. I know its not anything special but I think its cool just to have. I never really had a dollar coin before.

When I worked at GameStop, some kid paid with a silver dollar. Switched one out for a regular dollar and I have had it ever since.

Two stories for fun:

1) I was working a sales job for a short period of time, and one night after doing diddly squat all day, a very nice elderly lady (who didn't buy what I was selling), handed me two dollar coins and said "Those are for good luck". I had them in my pocket for the rest of the day, rubbing them together between my fingers, and ended up making 270 dollars in my last 2 hours. I still carry them around when I feel like I'm needing some luck.

2) I had a few $2 bills layin around a few years ago, and one of my buddies decided to take a marker and turn the montage on the back of all the men in wigs into a giant gay orgy, drawing penises and balls on every last one of them. Funny at the time, but he has long since left for college. I found the bill in a box a few months ago and mailed it to him with a note that said "I guess we'll never grow up". He called me two days later hysterically laughing.

Working as a cashier at a Cracker Barrel on the last stop on I-95 in Georgia (before you reach Florida), I used to get all kinds of coins and bills.

I have loads of 2-dollar bills with Clemson University Orange Paws stamped on them (a tradition there when the team goes on the road), a $5 Silver Certificate from the 1950s, loads of Bicentennial Quarters, Dollar coins, gold Dollar Coins, foreign money including Aruban, French, German, Euro, Canadian (lolCanada), South African, etc etc. into oblivion :)

That was about the only thing I miss about being a cashier.

Some store (I forget which) around where I live was doing "Bunny Bucks" around easter for $3.50 each. It's a 2$ bill, but the picture of Jefferson has a little bunny-face sticker over it. The extra $1.50 went to charity, so I bought one, cause it's really cute.

/sigh

Broken link.

Ignore please.

I have to say, I dont have one of those Remote Linking Forbidden signs, you're a lucky guy Celv.

My first job was at a Little Caesars. During a lunch rush on a weekend a kid paid for 2 slices of pizza with pure change. I was pretty angry until I saw the buffalo nickels and shit he probably raided from his grandma's dresser to buy them with >_>.

Heh. My little sister is the Coat Check Girl at a bar, so gets most of her money in 1's and 5's. Watching her pay for things is funny, she pulls out this roll of cash and starts peeling bills off.
