Yay Today is my 1st day of high school. I'm going to go curl up in a fetal position before I get dumped into a trash can hehehe ^^;

Back in my day  We had a nice steep hill nicknamed "Freshman Hill". It was because Freshman were known to get tossed down it. At least until someone got hurt. Goodluck! Should be a pretty cool time in your life. Make sure to get involved in some activities, sports, debate, whatever. Makes a ton of difference in your level of enjoyment.

First day of high school huh. Man that sucks, I mean good luck.

High School was the second worst period of my life, second only to Junior High. Have fun.

Thats for sure. Just remember to go to college because it makes up for all of the crap you went through in high school.

You're kidding right? I didn't last one symester in art college....

No fucking way Im kidding: When I was in college it was the best time of my life - when the classes actually challenge me, I care.

I had to drop out to take care of my family, but I plan to go back now that my grandma has passed on.

I don't know what everyone else is bitching about. I had to watlk FIFTEEN MILES to school every day (even on the weekends) and it was up hill both ways. There were these massive snow drifts all year round, and it was sweltering hot out all the time. Both the school's air conditioning system and funace were constantly in need of repair and the janitors were still on strike from 1969, so the halls were a stye.

Our pricinpal was an Ogre with an impish vice pricipal familiar who'd constantly be popping out from behind the shadows and catch people misbehaving. If you were caught doing anything against the ever increasing number of rules posted all over the school (no matter how minor the infraction) you were tortured, mutilated, burned and hanged--if you were lucky, in that order.

Really it wasn't all that bad, i guess. At least now that I look back, a survivor of the class of '99.

I am so serious, I Hated Junior High and High School, but when I got to college and away from everything then I made up for all that lost time and had the absolute best 4 years of my life. Sure the work was harder but it was nothing an all night cram session couldn’t handle.

High School was okay, so was Junior High. All a cake walk, then college hit me like a sack of bricks. Best advice I can give about 1st day in High School, JOIN A SPORT, or a club that requires working with a team. I wouldn't be where I am today if I didn't join volleyball and the cultural club. Discipline is what is key from joining them. And if you don't get that from it, it's the fastest way to make friends. Oh, and one more note: Don't make the mistake of trying to make your high school years the best years of your life. I've seen too many people go that route. Save those days for college. Don't get me wrong, I had a ton of fun in High School, but I wouldn't say that they were the highlights of my life. Well good luck.

High School was fine. I still would have rather been doing something else, though.

Senior year starts on wednesday for me, i dont mid high school but i just want to be done with it and go to college.

my first day of high school was ok.
It was just like meeting all your teachers, and blah

my junoir high sucked, after 6th grade, my dad had won custody(him and my mom were already divorced, he just wanted to gain custody from my mom) so i had to go to a new school...the first weeks blew....
but i am kinda glad i switched schools, i wouldnt of met my friends that i know now, and i probably of never touched FFXI....sad isnt it? How one thing can change a lot?

/em suddenly has blurred memories of High School surfacing through the
time fog............

god i wish i was still back in high school, no mortgage, no loans, no self
depriciating job that pays horribly :)

but then again i dont miss the awkwardness of trying so desperately to fit in
surrounded by the inevitability of the unknown.

shit in one hand, hope in the other. see which fills first ^^

on that note.....good luck with the upcoming year to all who are returning to academia! do your best so you dont wind up like me, bitter and indifferent :)

Hope you enjoy it. I had fun my first year but then the rest of my H.S. years were not. I actually enjoyed middle school more. It was smaller and I seen most of my friends and it was alot lenit compared to High School where everyone seems to want to kick your butt and you wish you were a white mage in RL so you could sneak/Invisible your way through stuff you wanted to avoid. Wow FF XI is like High School all over again. LMAO.

High school was the greatest for me. Freshman year I didn't know alot of people, so that was mediocre, but once sophomore year started, holy crap, I was doing everything I ever wanted to do. It was so much fun, and high school was a breeze for me. Spend 1-2 hours on HW, then the rest of the day and night time to chill with friends. I met my closest friends there too, and probably my greatest memories all happened during high school.

Now I'm getting close to the end of college, and it's been alright. There's no real excitement as far as it comes with new things. Dorming was fun for awhile, nothing more fun then inviting female friends over for a few hours, but overall nothing really exciting happens.

My suggestion to anyone, do all the crazy shit you ever wanted to do before you get to college, chances are you'll have less and less free time then, I'm glad I did so much back then, I have no regrets even when I did stupid crap, it's just a life experience.

It seems like all I did in College was stupid crap, I am suprised I made it out alive after some of the stuff I pulled.

High School was a lotta fun for me but I stayed active.

College-may have contributed to my dumbing down.

When you get there remember:

Beer doesn't make you think better.
Pot doesn't make you study better.
If you think Raman noodles are terrible, smoke a doob and you'll change your mind. They are a main staple for most college students. (10 for $1)

The local health clinic should be able to provide you with free condoms for the awesome parties that you WILL attend.
(Free Condoms=more Beer money you can spend)

Pork rinds should not be mixed with beer, if you want to keep you roomate for long anyway.

Oh yeah but High School, Good times.....just do your work and live carefree...that's what it was all about for me!

Important lessons to learn from. All true, but you forgot that it is ok to start drinking at 3 in the afternoon, because it is after 10 PM somewhere in the world.
