"Hip Hop is Dead" - Nas

No...

ninjar edit: I finally had time to watch it, gave it 3 stars, mainly because his lyrics seem unorigional to me. More like those used before in his own style, which makes for good music but doesnt get any points from me.

I did love the old man and lady part though, good song nonetheless

nas is one of the true oldschool artists that hasnt changed his sound or his style just to sell records, he has stayed true to who he is, and is one of the best lyricists around in my opinion.. i only got to listen to half the cd before work, but i like it so far for the most part.

the only thing i am "wtf" about is the song that has jayz in it??? black republican i think it was called.

If its the one where Nas is dissin' Jay-Z, you're thinking of the song Ether

Black Republicans i thought was really good. But, i dont like how he sampled his Thiefs Theme hook, for his new single. Honestly Nas is the only rapper thats stayed true to the game like Neo stated above, these days Rap is all about leaning with it, and shoulder leans. Where the real essesnce of Hip-hop is dead, the days when we had true lyracist, that really made you listen to the Song more then once to decipher the metaphors and simlies. But, anyways lol my favorite song on this song is "Can't forget about you" its featuring the same vocalist that sang the hook in Jay-Zs latest single "Lost ones"

Video really wasn't very good. And seriously if I can't really bump a beat in hip hop I don't like it...so I didn't like it. And I think the song concept is stupid.
