Hippograph feathers.

Honestly, I'm not too sure where to post this, so I figured I may as well put it here. I was wondering if anyone had any strong information on the Hippograph feather drops. (Not the tailfeathers, the other ones) Annoyingly, I need 6 of these and would like to gather information before I go out and attempt to gain them.

Hope I can find someone who knows a bit about these!

What can I say that isn't obvious... You can get them from Hippogryph type mobs in Riverne Site A or B. I think you'll have a better chance in B since they're used for a quest to obtain an item used against the Riverne Site B#01's boss.

You can take on those mobs with a party of 4 but it'll be slow.

I've been having a lot of people say they aren't dropped from certain ones and whatnot and was hoping I could get a definiate answer on which ones will drop them.

Tailfeathers are the ones for the Mistmelts. Normal feathers are used for crafting and run a fairly hefty price on the AH. I have personally not seen them drop (and Miros has already picked my brain on my own theories of what does and does not drop them) from any hippogryphs I've fought, and I've gotten *plenty* of tailfeathers from Cloud Hippogryphs in B01. Which are the only ones I've personally fought in large numbers.

So either Cloud Hippogryphs don't drop them, or they drop them disgustingly infrequently. My guess is that Nimbus Hippogryphs further into B01 would probably be better, but again ... that's a guess, not speaking from actually knowing what I'm talking about. >.>

Yep, you must be right Vilurum.

My first riverne site A run was a mess (even though we succeeded at the end) and we had to fight some Hippogryph from which I think I had a feather I sold 24k or something like that at Jeuno AH (that I am sure of).

Though I can't tell you the name of the hippogryph. I know they were on the a small island full of them excusively, one island away from Monarch Linn actually.

I want to say they were the Cloud Hippogryph's.

May have also just been one of the regular Hippogryphs in #A01. I distinctly remember the drop in that zone tho. I think it was Decidence who said it was worth 400k at the time. Things like that sorta stick in my mind.
