Hah, I'm there too at the moment. I've tried knocking the turrets over, but I just die doing that, half of the places I try to get a better view from, I get shot at... bah.

And got it~ That was a bit rough.

mostly :P the WoW/School rock... I've not kept up with any info on any game that I wanted to keep up on from like.. months ago XD
 
Picked it up today but haven't had time to really play with it, other than watching the opening cutscene in Episode One and the first few puzzles in Portal. I'll spend some quality time with it tomorrow; I was going to level Dragoon, but...

what the hell did u do?
im STILL on it lol, i managed to take out one of the turrets by portaling over to it and knocking it over then quickly jumping back through while being shot by the other turrets, i just dont get how thats gonna work on the other three, well at least one of them seems plausable, the others two are just WTF

You can take down all four turrets. I won't say anything more, but I definitely did just that.
 
finally got it today with only taking out ONE turret. sadly somehow it erased the fact that i did the previous advanced ones and i had to do them all over again, but they were quick since i knew what to do.
now im working on going for the gold in all of em.
so far ive got silver in most, but man gold is hard.

Can't believe I actually thought about -not- buying this set of games. Decided while at the Game store today I'd give it a spin. Aside from a demo I've never played Half-Life 2 and I hear it's beast so what's to loose I figure. Now if I can just get away from TF2 long enough to play it XD

I can not stop playing Team Fortress 2. I popped it in at 4:00 P.M. and before I realized it, it was 11:30 P.M. What a fakin' game. I was surprised at how much like F.E.A.R. it handled. Nobody handles sensitivity control like Vivendi and Valve. I wish all FPS games handled this well... Has a few lag issues to be worked out but other than that this game, from the community to the gameplay, is worth the $60 alone.

After playin' TF2 I played some Portal. It's pretty neat and all but a bit boring. Finally up to the 16th stage and ran into my first thinker. Pretty cool but I'm glad it's short.

Now, back to tryin' to get my 10 kills with a single Sentry achievement...

Thats why I had to quit playing online games about a year ago lol. Once I started going back to school and got serious with my girlfriend (plus good 360 games coming out) I decided to hang up my purples from Naxx and AQ40 (at the time when I was playing hardcore before that godawful expan).

hehe, I don't play "hardcore" I think but *shrugs* I guess I'm blessed (or cursed) to only have school to deal with.
 
Well I raided like 3 nights a week, so I guess I couldnt call that hardcore lol. I do miss playing though. It was fun when the raids were 40 people and using vent. You get to know alot of people that way.

I've sunk about five hours into TF2, and I'm loving every minute of it. I've got a decent PC, and I'm guessing I run at about 35-40fps (anybody know how to turn framerate counter on without resorting to Fraps?) even in heavy firefights. Source is amazingly flexible, I can't get over how much different things look going from Portal to TF2. Balance is excellent, even though Heavy + Medic is still somewhat game-breaking. Mostly playing as a Soldier, and I spent some time as a Heavy and some as the Medic and Scout as well. The Heavy is awesome, but he moves too slow for my tastes. Medics really are vital on some maps, so don't be hesitant to play as one.

Portal is truly spectacular though. Short, but like most have already said, the writing is just fabulous; some of the things GLaDOS said were hysterical. Later on some of the puzzles really numb your brain, and led up to one of the most comical endings since the Monkey Island series.

Enable the developer console key in the advanced keyboard options, then bring it up with ~. Type net_graph 1 to turn it on, and net_graph 0 to turn it back off.

Everything has a weakness but how do you exploit it, is the way to think.
 
Just finished portal and it owned, way to short though. I jacked it from my friend who i also just took Episode 1 from so im only half wayish through that, then ill play though episode 2 and hit up some TF2. Pretty sweet stuff.
