I lost my account due to credit card reasons, but now I have the ability to restore it. However...

I've been FFXI'less for 2 weeks or more now, and I can say, it's a refresher. I've been a lot more cheery, and got more done. Since I have more time, I've been able to work on writing a lot more. Creating more stories, song lyrics, and poetry.

But.. I lost my account at lv55 RDM and 49 THF. I'm not finished with the game at all. Or rather, my goal before quitting. Was to at least get 1-2 jobs to lv60. Partying and doing great in a party is the most fun I get in this game. Esp. when I get positive feedback(even from JP players), it's great. But for the past 2 months playing, it's just been a bit tedious. I'll sign on and feel down. I'll talk to a few people, but it is dissapointing because most of my friends quit FFXI. I now play with them on WoW. Just isn't the same on FFXI.

So i'm left with a choice...

Rough it out a bit, and get at least RDM to 60 then quit.

or

Just quit now, and not hassle.

FFXI is fun, but it's also depressing to play. I don't know why. It's odd.

Another reason in why I don't want to quit yet is I have unfinished business and I run an LS.

I made this thread to ask what to do?

Thank you.

Quit while you can.

In the end FFXI, or any MMO, does very little for you in real life. Instead of personal development you engage in character development.

Your LS will reform and life will go on for everyone.

I am an MMO addict.
I have literally wasted years of my life playing games (two main accounts in EQ, one over 200 days /played, one (my very original one) 289 days /played), and while they were fun times, I do regret that I wasn't more productive in younger years.

Moderation is hard in an MMO, for me anyway, I can't subscribe to an MMO and only play on Friday nights, just doesn't work for me. So my advice is, quit, look back at good times, and move on with your real life.

hey we've never really talked much but yeah i was looking forward to just kicking back with you ingame and i don't know why. well anyways yes yes quit now this game does very little for you in the long run. If i could quit i would but there's many ppl i would leave behind. If you have no problem quitting now then do, eventually you'll have to nothing lasts forever....

Well I totally understand where your comming from, I myself have quit and came back 4 times now. My last quit was one full year. I remember my first character, it got kinda depressing to log into aswell. But now that Im under a new character its not even close to as bad. Sometimes we just grow tired of our personnas, if were nice all the time, we have a urge to be pompus, but we dont want to ruin our name or put a black mark with other towards our LS. We all try other games, Ive tried Anarchy Online for a year, Guild Wars is fun, and I too have wondered about WoW. But for some reason we all get drawn back here. So this is my advice to you, stick around and finish what you wanna do(wich is rdm to 60), otherwise some time down the road your gonna rejoin us because you have unfinished buisness. And when you rejoin, its not any easier, like I said I'm on my 4th time and am finally happy with my character, and it al seeems because I droped my old personna and took a new name. Maybe you need the same, maybe not, but I urge you to finish what you've staerted. Otherwise your gonna be caught in the loop with all of us.
Peace out

Thanks for the replies.

I think i'll keep my account unactive for awhile. WoW has been a lot of fun due to the fact many of my friends moved from FF to that.

I'll probably come back near the release of the expansion, and check out all the new content.

At this time, peace out Quetzalcoatl. You can contact me anytime on AIM.

Good luck Oni. It never hurts to take a break from the game. It just helps you miss it more sometimes. If you don't miss it, then you were definitely ready to give up the game.

Sculli you try to sound like you're so old. I'll betcha you aren't even 30 yet^^.

I would assume that he is either shocked that you may be 48 or amazed that Chpal guessed so high.
