I guess because now an RDM/PLD will get auto refresh and Vorpal Blade at the same time?

No, it's been tested, it's level 35.

Which means subbing PLD will get Auto Refresh, Flash, defense bonuses, and EX Sword WS all at once.

Won't subbing pld also give shieldbash as a mpless version of stun?
 
the auto-refresh wouldn't be enough to sub pld, cuz you can have /smn for that.... but you will have it now and flashing whirl AoE. be worth a shot
 
Subbing SMN would be usless for anything but MP and auto refresh though. If you were to sub PLD though you would get those defense bonuses along with the auto refresh and, as its been stated, some more weaponskills. I don't know how well this combo would work for anything besides farming though. Guess we will have to see. /sigh Yet another subjob that I need to level.
 
I'd always thought RDM/PLD might be useful for HNM fights.

- Chainspell flash.
- More defense.
- Blink/Stoneskin/Phalanx > Cover Tank.

And now autorefresh. That might push it over the edge to viable.
