So........yesterday (Friday) was the last day of classes before semester finals, which start on Monday - Thursday (then Christmas vacation yay!)

It's last period, and I'm in P.E. The coach just lets us play basketball. I'm very bad at it, so every time we play basketball, I just stand around and laugh with some other people.

Yesterday; though, I felt like playing for some reason. So I'm in there, playing as well as I could (laughing the whole way) and well....what do you know! I TORE THE TENDON IN MY ANKLE!!!

Actually, I tripped on another guy's foot as I was trying to block him, and was in pain for about a minute. The pain went away, so I went back to playing. About 5 hours later at home, I wake up from a nap and was shocked to realize that I couldn't walk.

I spent my entire Friday night at the Methodist Minor Emergency Center, where I {thankfully} found out that I didn't break any bones, just ripped a tendon. I will be unable to walk and must use crutches for up to 6 weeks, along with a removable cast-thingy-device.

Now, these things happen (this is the first time i tore or broke anything [yes that's right, I have NEVER broken a bone or anything associated with that in my entire life!]) But I can't feel but be depressed.

I started exercising in September, and have lost about 28 pounds since then. I went down to size Medium and starting to get into small. I was so proud because I was making such good progress. I switched to contact lenses because, a long time ago, when I needed to get new glasses, I looked in the mirror and thought I looked a whole lot better without glasses in the first place.

Also, it is time for Christmas vacation, but I cannot do much because I am unable to walk (or at least limp with crutches). I probably wont be able to go out with friends, etc.

I dont know why I'm posting this....I just feel depressed because of such a stupid accident is ruining everything. I'm gonna be a fat ass again, and I wont be able to do anything during the vacation (thank God for ffxi.....then WoW later)

Can't you do crunches? That doesn't involve much leg power.

You can still hang out with your friends, just you won't be mobile. You guys can go see movies, etc.

And I'm sorry for your misfortune :?

Bleh yeah you are right.....I wrote this when I was really depressed that's all.

(Going to the movies in crutches ^^; ><;;;; )?

yeah this is my first time breaking something (well i didn't break anything but you know what I mean).....

I also should be thankful that nothing worse happened to me..... Some of my friends in football get far worse injuries than the "pussy sting" I recieved. Hell, one of them shattered his upper leg bone (Femur) one time, he was in a wheel chair/crutches for an entire semester!

(Oh by the way Oni, what happened to that bad-ass sig of yours, that was actually my favorite one, besides Jender's  )
***EDIT for spelling***

Hey Xelos,

so sorry about your misfortune :( I sincerly hope you feel better quickly. Being the first time that you tear or break something in your body, it may seem like the end of the world, but thrust me, things will go by very quickly. A few years ago, I had to have my left knee almost totally redone, spent 3 months in crouhes and 4-5 months of re-ab after that. And that was definately not the first time I tore or broke something

as far as exercising, you may want to take it easy. I know it sucks but it's much better to take your time and have your tendom fully healed before doing anything. I know it's the ankle and all, but almost every move you make when exercising will affect your feet. And don'T think you're the only one flexing those toes when exercising, we all do it! lol.

Thrust me, just by moving around with those damn sticks under your arms will keep you in shape, but move! :) Don't be a lazy ass and get up to get something to drink or eat, walk around the house, go out still. Walking with crouches kept me quite in shape every time i had to, so don't wory about getting back those pounds you lost (good work by the way!)

Anyway, good luck and have a fun recovery! :)

Awwww! :(

Well, look at the bright side, you have an excuse now not to do SHIT over the holidays - YAY!!!!! <3 I get cabin fever as bad as the next guy, but a week or so at home, catching up on games and dvd's sounds like heaven to me...and pain killers? mmmmmmmmmmmm

*I sprained my ankle once - not fun, so I am sorry....but look at it this way, getting pampered over the holidays is kickass!!!

I screwed up my ankle skating last Saturday. I didn't goto the doctor because i'm an idiot but I think I tore the tendons too. My ankle is all bruised and when I did it, it swelled to the size of a baseball. so PAINFUL. I've been on crutches for a week and last night I switched to a cane. I hate being immobile, it's like a prison to me. Still hurts pretty bad. Actually I am thinking of going to doctor because I am starting to think it is broken. Too bad I have no insurance. ><

I feel your pain.

LOL Jender, oh also, they prescribed me all kinds of pain killers, even some heavy narcotics.....but the truth is my ankle never really hurt (unless I walked on it) so I never needed to use them. I guess that's good. Also, (yeah yeah I know I shouldn't rush it =P) but I ACCIDENTALLY found out that I can stand on my right foot yesterday without hurting. I can even take some steps, it doesn't hurt but it does feel "wierd" so anyway I am just going to play it safe and stay on crutches till about Saturday. Unless the wierd feeling is still there then YAY!
