HNMs and MPKs

I'm not sure if this is common practice or not, but everyonce in a while I have either heard or witnessed people trying to steal (sometime succeding) HNM claims from other people. Sometimes even after they have failed to steal the HNM they then proceed to aggro mobs from other side of map to try to link with the HNM to kill the alliance that has claimed it. I was just wondering why this is acceptable and why people do it...does anyone know? I think if somone claims the HNM they claimed it, fair and square. You don't have to heal them if they are dying...they should be prepared to defeat it. If they do lose then you can take the HNM, but please...if you lose the claim...you lose the claim and should just let it go and stick around for the ToD.
 
It's a sad thing to see people's lives revolve around stealing HNM's and shit. Part of the reason why end game sucks in this game =\
 
Huh? My life doesnt revolve around it...of coarse it's fun to kill HNMs it's like killing the weapons in FFVII and getting the Pink Tail in FFIV...stealing the HNMs is an injustice...to be honest I've never actually fought an HNM but I've sat and watched my brother and heard about others having them stolen.
 
It's gonna happen. The game is a competition that means you gotta keep close attention to keep the claim as well as not dying to the HNM in question... which... if you do a lot of kiting strategy is not guaranteed like a party that fights straight up.

The only thing that's crossing the line is putting the other competition on the recieving end of malicious behavior, that is MPK'ing, or interfering in a way that could get the person killed. I don't know about you but there's not a thing that could justify this behavior, even if they offered a raise 3 after.

Just somethin to remember that if a monster declaims, it is open game, regardless, and the GMs won't do jack about it. The only thing people accomplish by doing these things is ruin their reputation.
 
Bah...I don't know what i was trying to accomplish by making this thread...guess I just wish everyone could "get along" and be happy for the people who got the claim.

I don't think I am going too do HNMs when and if I hit lvl 70 + lol. Too much drama for me. I just want too relax and meet new people in game and have fun.

stealing may be 'legal' (thanks GMs you worthless piles of poo) but it sure as heck isnt right. In the Unwritten code of HNM conduct...

#1: Ye shall not steal.
#2: If ye lose original claim ye shall wait for ToD or full wipe.
#3: Ye shall not MPK.

unfortunately when millions of gil are on the line and gained so easily, it quickly taints the vision of many players.

But hey be happy at least its not like EQ1 was on the Rallos Zek server when someone would just run up and manaburn your ass and 1 shot kill you...Then again sometimes people do die to the MPK. If someone tries to MPK and youre gonna die just call for help and screw em out of their bloody handed prize.
 
It's yet to happen to me ( Except this one time someone took Aquarious from meh) but one of my "JPN HNMLS" MPK'd a "NA HNMLS" and the thing is, i knew alot of the argry people. I feel no shame, however i was very dissapionted and brung argument to my dear JP HNMLS. Amazingly you can have a pretty beefy fight using translators and simple english words.

Now as for me ever doing an MPK. I would only do it if the opposing party had someone ( yes only 1) that managed to break my balls really hard, with no forgiveness. I would warn the opposing party that they are going to face death because i am going to strike down my enemy which really has me pissed off. And i would advise them to move.

That is true hate, and i don't think i can possible hate someone with just mere words, or actions that take place in a world like this.
 
anyone who would MPK someone or work to steal a HNM from them is an angsty immature rat and should take a serious look at themselves because there is no justification or rationalization for this kind of behavior

When I see people getting pissed off that they didn't get the beastman's seal from an exp party treasure pool....very little surprises me nowadays when it comes to players and their desire for items.

"Oh look!! A rarab tail..it's MINE!!!!" hahaha.....
