Honestly the grammer nazi thing is old. If in a pt situation i have to type quickly and possibly incoherently to save the pt from disaster i will do so.

s for you and i'm not going to back up through my sentence if i misspell something that isnt terribly bad, especially in fast conversation.

We all talk differently among our friends. I have little slang keywords that are uniquely my own and part of my character. "sokay" is one of them. Its a mangled "It's Okay." but thats how my character says it and will always say it.

When in a pt with JP or EU who arent to great with english i am extra careful to use easy words and stuff but i don't know if its entirely necessary in a full english pt.

Also some things like a taru friend of mine calling boy character Mistah (name) is role playing. When i butcher a word its mainly because there is no voice in ffxi so i write how i am speaking *in my head*. Writing accents is difficult but i use a million accents a day in fun and always will.

i hate leet-speak as much as the next guy but i've never met a player who hasnt used it in a pt at one point, just to make fun of leet-speak. After a full pt wpeout i might say 'OMFGWTFBBQLOL u r teh sux0r pt EVAR!!!11oneone!! wwwww' just to lighten the mood and generally make people laugh. There is a time and place for everything.

Knowing how to speak 3 languages, while admirable, does not make one better/smarter than not knowing how to type one perfectly. Typing is a difficult skill. It took me a long time to learn how to type quickly since my family never owned a computer until i moved out. Typing classes are tedious and i was never any good at them. I learned to type from writing constantly and training myself. I still look at the keyboard half the time. I would wager a guess that my english is fairly good though since i've topped every english advanced class, used to read dictionaries and encyclopedias for fun and enjoyment, and have an english vocabulary larger than most of the people i know. Can't speak more than 5 words of any other language though i have been trying to learn JP.

Typing perfectly while doing ones job in ffxi is not easy for someone who isnt a great typist. It's not that they don't know their own language, its that its hard to TYPE it. Cut people a little bit of slack come on :/
