i'm having people tell me mixed stories on this.

some say that it doesn't matter what you buy that its all random. "just buy a bunch of cheep fruit and trade up a storm" and that sooner or later you'll get good stuff.

others say that you have to trade certain items to certain monsters to get certain items. "if you want <insert item name> just trade a <insert food> to a trick<insert creature>"

can you guys help me out on this? i dont mind taking the time to do this. but i'd really like to do it the right way and not spin my wheels

It says that some of the monsters do like certain items. I just don't think anyone has really found out yet. It also says not to give the same item over and over, but to change things up a bit.

Yeah, its pretty much random, for every theory on how it works, it's eventually shot down. Only tips I read that seem to work is zone out if your trading to the same person and food cost does not matter, so buy whatever is cheapest for you to get.

Same thing with the Treat Staff casting Warp, theres so many theories on Allakazham, most talk about HP being a factor, but even that was shot down, makes no sense, but whatever, I just want one.

What is "It"? Is there an NPC you talked to that says this or was there an SE announcement?

I traded a stack of grapes and got nothing and so I decided to trade a Apple pie to see what would happen and I got the Pumpkin Head II. Then I bought another stack of grapes and I got about half way through the stack and decided to use another apple pie and got the Trick Staff. I don't know if thats how it works or not but it seems to work like that for me.

I traded around 15,000 Gil worth of Faire Apples, I got the pumpkin head, the Pumpkin II, the horror head and the trick staff.

Frustraded that i was not getting the treat staff i then deceded to switch over to trading grapes. On the 1st grape i traded to the NPC, i then recieved the Treat staff.
