Once again with the "I have a life anyone who camps a PCC doesn't"

Seriously people, come up with new material.

Since you're so familiar with the argument, I'm sure you can quickly and easily recap what your actual rebuttal is. Seems to me that the notions of opportunity cost and time effectiveness are fairly valid points ...

So being a fairly valid point, how about actually shooting it down properly with some logical arguments and reasoning, rather than dismissing it out of hand. Out-of-hand dismissals work for arguments that are patently obviously ludicrous. This is not such an argument. Sure, this particular quoted example didn't go into much detail but the underlying concept is well worth discussing.

If you've already done so in another topic (hence the out-of-hand dismissal of something you've already shot down), feel free to provide a link instead.

Since you're correcting people's spelling, I'd like to remind you that you forgot an "and" in this comment, and it's actually Lulu and not Lulo. I thought you'd appritiate this.
Oh, and I didn't say you didn't have a life, I didn't even refer to you, I was actually refering to people who camp the entire window over and over again. Sure they have a life, most of it is simply spent in the Maze.

You spelled appreciate wrong so neener neener! I never said i was an english major, only pointing out that those who make comments about spelling on the internet better go over their posts with a fine toothed comb.

yuor spllenig cuold be gooder.

Somehow... I got a feeling this isnt about Rare Ex things anymore. :) It's about rich people who are feeling opressed about their wealth status being degraded to the same level as other people.

Damm you people and you who live among the capitalist...

Hit the nail on the head.

I dont think the Rare/ex ever was the problem, its more along the lines of there being new ways to get sellable versions of the items that are curently in cirulation(sp).

Well someone with Rank 10 in all nations would be a loser with no life.

JK :P

Anyways my thoughts on the most time honored comeback or last resort to save face in losing an argument (The "Get a life" comment) is simply this.

1. To say they see someone in the maze all the time does not mean they are actually at the keyboard. People will only camp the window, so even if you see Vang down at the maze for a week straight that means I am afking most of it.

After a while it gets REAL old watching people follow me to the Maze only when i go down there so I just stay there all week and all day to throw off the countercampers/ or /search whores. Trust me all you search whores I have killed Argus then stayed in the maze 7-8 hours after or waited a day or two before i tried to sell my PCC just to throw off these scumbags.

2. Seeing a person on all day and all night.
Have you ever logged on and noticed there is always a certain person on, 24-7? Well before you say anything about them not having a life please remember that you cannot tell they are on unless you are also logged on.

So technically the only time you can see if a person is on is if you are logged on in the same game, for the same amount of time, as that person you are so bold to say "Has no life".

Do you not see the hypocrisy?

Oh and Cubswoo I don't really have much to respond with other than that it just sucks if they BC a PCC. I guess I am just selfish and do not want others to have more of an easy access to such a hard to get item =/

The best neck pc in the game a melee can wear before they even go to Crawler's Nest all the way up to 75 is obnoxious?

That is a matter of opinion.

As a Job that doesn't rely heavily on Accuracy to be good, I think of Spike Necklace to be the best neck peice in the game, and it cost me 10k.

Seriously. PCC is overrated in any normal situation, it'll help the lv70 Ranger trying to hit Gods, sure. But with Accuracy Food being in the game, not that I use it either, Damage increasing equipment is where its at now.

HahHA! That's true.. I doubt I've spent 20 mil on Sushi yet besides, even without Sushi, my +41 Accuracy is good enough to hit things.

Quick question Vang, not flaming, just asking:

If the method to get a Peacock Charm requires Sea access, is it any more or less fair?

I wouldn't be suprised if the method was as involved as the Ebisu Rod quest. For those unfamiliar with the quest, you need to do this:

1) Get a 95,000 GP item (Serpent Rumors) to be able to flag the quest and a 115,000 GP item (Mooching) to give you more time to fight the fish.

2) Do a bunch of quests in Selbina and Mhaura (including getting a Sand Charm) to have Zaldon gut fish for you.

3) Flag the quest in Rabao.

4) Fish up Sea Zombies (Ferry during Pirates only) and Cave Cherax (Kuftal/QSC only, very dangerous fishing points) and turn them in to Zaldon.

5) Have a 1/10 (or less) chance for each fish to give you an EX piece of bait.

6) Get Lufaise Meadows access

7) Fish up Lik (legendary in Lufaise) and Gugrusaurs (legendary on the Ferry, Pirates only) with the EX bait. Mobs will bite this bait too, and they're a huge, huge bitch to fish up even at 100+8 skill.

8) Turn in Lik and Gugrusaurs to Zaldon and hope he gives you a rare/ex piece of crafting material.

9) Turn those pieces in to Zaldon and get an Ebisu rod - unbreakable and better than the Lu at fishing up stuff (rumored, there's only one confirmed Ebisu on all servers.)

Imagine if you needed to do THIS to get a Peacock Charm via quest or other means. Everyone would be back at Argus in a heartbeat.

The way that the following items are acquired has been changed:
Archer Ring, Leaping Boots, Emperor Hairpin, Peacock Charm
In addition, players may receive an EX/Rare or EX item with the same attributes from the monsters who previously dropped each of the above items.

why are ppl discussing there's gonna be a 'new' way of getting these items, it's explained above, you'll get them the same way.

Try reading the whole thing you quoted.

Try reading what he quoted.

may receive

For what we know, that means the mobs drop both the EX and Tradable versions, causing what I said earlier on like, page 4. Forcing out people who are just there for the gil value(Cause who wants to camp a 21-24 Hr. pop NM to possibly get A) Nothing or B) Something they can't sell,) while keeping in the people who actually want it for use.

Your shitty necklaces aren't going to devalue folks, people are still going to want to buy them instead of camp, just because they're lazy.

Like with my example of Ochiudo's and Horomusha. Horomusha drops of a Riverne Site A NM. They both are incredibly expensive(and have gone up since Horomusha Introduction,) even though Horomusha was put in to relieve the stress put on Ochiudo's.

It says the location has been changed for the tradable items. So I doubt the mobs would drop those still.

That wouldn't really make sense, unless the Rare/EX was a 100% drop and the AHable one is much lower? And if that's the case, it doesn't solve the problem this update seems to be trying to solve.

And again, it could mean that while the mobs retain the original and the EX, the original might additionally be obtained through a BCNM.

Look at Venemous Claws. Only a hands-count worth of NMs were able to drop it, now there are KS30 events that drop it too. Those didn't go down in price either.

Well of course now we are talking extremes, even still a quested, BCed PCC is just not the "Same" as the absolute heart attack that shooting that provoke out at a red named Argus, killing the big blob, and seeing you have found a PCC on The Argus will ever be.

Well, you could always look at it that no one will ever experience that kind of pride in achievement that you have, Vang.

Or it could just mean they may receive the (Rare)/Ex version ... or as an alternative, they may simply receive nothing. To say "will receive" implies a guaranteed drop.

And Vang, thank you for providing the counterargument I requested.

That would directly imply that the method of obtaining the old items is not the same as it used to be. If anyone can tell me how something can change but still be obtained the exact same way, I'll give you a cookie.

The second half has nothing to do with the first half. The "In addition" just means "Along the same lines". The "may" implies that the NM doesn't drop the new item 100% of the times that you kill it.

Now if we could just get a Rare/Ex verision of the Serket Ring...

It's called Vivian Ring and it already exists. And if you want a ring that converts 50 HP to MP, most people go for the buyable one because getting a rare-ex drop from a once-a-day HNM is more of a pain than you'd think for.

(And yes, Vivian Ring has worse drop rate than Serket Ring, but the argument still holds.)

vivian ring is the worst drop rate in the game.... its almost near impossible to get, not just a pain in the ass. lol, you have to take a near alliance and then win the lot or let them give it to you. its drop rate is up there with the kraken club drop rate. thats why serket ring is so expensive. ;)
