HOLY CRAP (update details)

and thus 6 months after they change this, they are now so sick of the crying they are considering another means for you to get it...give me a fucking break.

Seriously you have to understand how pathetic this makes the whiners look to the ones who camped him and busted our ass to make the gil down there.

You guys would just have a hay day if they made Argus a forced pop would you not? Hell knowing some of this board you would probably be too lazy to get the pop items even if mandys dropped them.

Hmm, just wondering, if they make the new rare/ex PCC able to be gotten the same exact way as the regular way, how are they less leet for gettting it?

Or if they make it a BCNM for a sellable version how are they less leet? Cause they didnt pay 20+mil gil for it? Please. From what i remeber from your sig, you didnt pay for it either, you camped it. And so will they for the Rare/ex version, so whats your gripe? That you wont be able to get it the same way as before, or taht you wont make the 20+ mil for selling it?

For those that camp NMs for gil it seems that they are pissed that they are loosing their meal ticket.

Damn you SE!! Leaping Lizzy is how i make my money sometimes ;_;

Which is why the change is being made.

Let's be honest here: Thus far, this is all rampant speculation. We've got no idea how much more/less common the tradeable versions of the items are going to be, or how common the new drops will be either.

However.

I fail to understand the mentality that the rare/ex versions are somehow going to be "easier" to obtain. There will still be swarms of people mobbing the spawn points of these mobs for a good long while yet, the only difference is that the people involved will be the people that would otherwise be spending money on the items, rather than the people who insist on camping the same NM over and over again to make their gil.

And in addition, we don't know how what the new methods of attaining those items will be, how rare the drops will be, and how difficult the fight will be assuming that's what it is.

In other words, untwist your damn panties already. At absolute worst, people will now be able to get 5 friends and go do a run and snag an item that they can sell on the AH, and yes, in that case, PCC prices are going to absolutely PLUMMET. And I won't feel particularly bad for the people that insist that a dinky +10 ACC is worth 20 million gil. Alternately, you'll have a situation where the fight will either be incredibly hard and restrictive, or the drop rate will be obscenely low, and the items in question will either not drop in price (PCC) or possibly even go up (AR, EP and LB).

Though I have to say, I suspect that the BCNM/ENM that will drop these items won't be impossible, that you'll be able to get one if that's what you're looking for, and that the prices WILL drop as a result. SE tends to put more emphasis on group play over individual play as a general rule, and while the new NPC buddies are a significant departure (as are the new XP rules governing weaker enemies), I doubt that they'll change that all that much.

Dumbest shit I have ever read. Do you know what a PCC is? Do you know what level you can wear it? Do you know how many more equipment slots free up when you wear one of these around your neck?

PCC has been and still is the BEST neck pc a melee can wear for the level and until end game.

Period.

Players stay in the game to gain rare, expensive armor that only a small part of the community has, there is nothing else really to be proud of.

The entire problem with this update is the inclusion of the PCC. No one would be complaining at all if it weren't included. I think it's pretty safe to say that the new requirement for getting a regular PCC isn't going to be going out and typing /dance in front of a new npc or something. It's probably going to be something outlandishly hard to do, and will probably be a rare drop from said event too.

People will still have to camp it (or do the uber quest) to get it. I'd much rather see people who actually camp it to wear the item having the new r/e one than see the same people down there constantly camping it to sell. The fact is that this update is almost exclusively going after gilsellers. It isn't about the people with multiple lvl 75 jobs with the 1337 gear, it's about stopping the Sonicteams from camping the Chyme, stopping the vokebots from camping Argus, etc.

As an aside, didn't S-E mention several months ago that they were going to start doing something about the more heavily camped mobs? Is this really a big surprise that this is happening (aside from PCC, which is pretty shocking)?

Yes, I know what it is, yes I've camped Argus, and no, I don't think it's worth 20-30 million gil. I know that you could, in theory, pass on using Sniper Rings and instead switch off to something else, though the number of people I've seen actually DO so is Zero.

The PCC costs 20 million because it's RARE, not because it's GOOD. For RNG, the edge offered is minor, for other Melee, it's less minor but still NOT worth that kind of gil. You disagree, fine. I don't particularly care.

Excuse my power posting but the moronoc comments keep flowing.

No I did not pay for it, I have never paid for an Emp Pin or Leaping Boots either. (Except one time when i was crafting on my "Retired THF" and got an invite and decided to go level it, had to buy all new gear on the spot)

and talking about 1337 is stupid but fuck it, let's talk. No doing a BCNM for a PCC is no where near as "1337" as the thrill of camping, killing, and getting the drop. (Ok forget i said the camping part being thrilling on Argus) ask anyone who has gotten the drop. Do not even put obtaining a PCC through a BC vs Camping one the good old fashioned way in the same sentance in terms of who worked for it more and should be more proud in having one.

and as for the meal ticket comment, I think you just topped Raeslveg's dumb shit comment. Come down and camp Argus for a bit and then tell me how much of a meal ticket or how much of a free ride it is. You would not last 3 hours.

Its all speculation but I think there is a good chance PCC price may rise not lower... knowing SE.

If Argus starts dropping a Rare/Ex version then SE hasnt created a 2nd method for PCC to be sold, there will still only be 1 method and it may be rare as hell still and done rarely (like a KS99 or something).

Funny reactions

Just a big Amen to Taurothar

I sympathize with those feeling they got robbed cause now they can't camp 4 freakin NM's!!!!!! My god, there are hundreds of other NM's so calm down, life will go on. This was to target the gil sellers, not legitamate NM campers. Hopefully these great items will go to a BCNM where everyone will have a shot at obtaining them still, you just might have to spend a few hours farming beastman seals instead.
I can see it now.......

Thefonz defeats Leaping Larry
Thefonz opens the Armory Crate
Thefonz obtains Leaping Boots

Personally I'm not a big NM camper cause I see the same damn people at the same NM's all the time, somehow I don't think SE had envisioned that when they created the NM system. They are finally attempting to rectify that situation. And I'm really sick of some people's mentality with gear being the only consideration for party effectiveness. Noone is willing to accept "average" gear anymore.

And on a side note, you'de think I'de be pissed about this decision since just within the last month I purchased Sniper's, Emperors hairpin, and leaping boots.

And as for my market predicition, expect Marksman Rings/Leaping Boots to go down in price and Sniper Rings/Winged Boots to go up a bit. Hopefully, finally you can MAKE money crafting Sniper Rings.

And I think calling people who don't want to spend 100+ hours camping Argus, lazy, pretty over the top.

Peace and Chicken Grease
Thefonz

this makes this a LOT more fair for everyone out there....

Please don't include me in your post Nifal by saying "everyone".

and how is any of this making it more "Fair" to you?

ok its fair everyone but Veng and anyone else that agrees with him/her what ever... better ? And its fair because if you need the stats which these items (or now replicas), it is possible to get them without having to pay absurd prices, or lossing multiple claims at a time to someone that has no reason to farm it but to kick the price even higher. The items like someone said before were meant to improve on things some specfic classes dont have have... not for gil income.. now had they stayd at a resonable price this change would not have been made -_- 800k for +3 DEX/AGI is rediculous for example, or 20 million for +10 Acc especially for that lvl.

vang said:
but 800k for 25 mp, or 3 dex/agi is just obnoxious.

3 AGI 3 DEX for level SEVEN is obnoxious?

25 Extra MP at level TEN is obnoxious?

The best neck pc in the game a melee can wear before they even go to Crawler's Nest all the way up to 75 is obnoxious?

I think people driving around 500k cars is obnoxious, but I'm not asking the government to make it easier for me to get one.

Either work for it, or wear a spike necklace, leather boots, or shell earrings at those levels idc, but don't make it worse for the people that WORKED for it.

I vote Vang for President. Now that gimps can have the stuff people work hard for what's left for those of us who actually worked hard to have the best...

Plllleeeeeeaaaasee tell me how 10 acc and 10 racc at level 33 is not "GOOD".

and fuck Rangers, it's not even that great for them, I'm talking about all these shitty DRKs and MNKs who couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, it does WONDERS for them.

You misunderstand me. If the PCC dropped as often as the Leaping Boots, it would cost less than 1 million gil most likely. The price of the item is determined by its rarity, not by how "good" it is. Something you're well aware of.

Wrong. Gillsellers do not own VE, LL or Argus. SE took money out of legitimate campers pockets.

Gillsellers own stropper.. but you can count on the price of rings skyrocketing now, since there will no longer be a constant flow in stock at AH.

Why do you even have to say something like that? have you even see some of us in game? well excuse me ;_; I happened to farm all the gear i have LL boots Pin and Scorpion Harness Assault Jerkin 600k knives and 800k gloves.. took me fucking forever! ill be damned if i have someone call ME lazy ~_~

Oh God I love this, people making false statements before we even know what the changes are going to be.

Everyone calm down take a deep breath and we'll start bitching about this once the update is over.

This is a ridiculous change, people camp Argus for a PCC or for the gil, they earned it. If anyone is whining it is yet again the poor and lazy or as they like to call themselves "We have lives and anyone that has gil does not" type of people.

PCC should never change, and I cannot BELIEVE you people are so god damn lazy that you can't even camp an Emp pin, with TH2 it's like a 70% drop! Leaping Lizzy is the easiest NM to claim as well! Wtf people?

I'm going to agree with Vang, but tweak it a bit. The first paragraph, I agree if you are so obsessive to go and camp Argus and you get the PCC congratulations, you did earn it, you put your sanity at risk possibly, but you earned whatever someone buys it off you from. BUT if there is another means to obtain a similar item, and its rare/ex that only means that now what you have to do to get a similar item may be less (the specifics are obviously in question), so what if it takes less to earn an item? So what if there are different ways of doing it? All it means is an item is now more accessable, obviously people such as Vang dislike that, because having accessability to higher levels of succes in the game seems to devalue their attempts at getting where they are today, but what they fail to recognize in the first place is that this is a game and what you get from it is how you play it and their path has merit unto itself. Unfortunately it seems that they dont realize this if they dont get others to recognize it too.....

Anyways, if the extra items are of equal, and even just to a lesser degree, difficulty to obtain the regular items will probably maintain a slightly lesser price. But, if you obtain these items from the same NMs than the non ex/rare are just going to go up in price because the same people who were paying for them before but do not want to camp it are still going to buy it, but the supply is now limited on the original item. So I don't know what Leg is complaining about if these items will be obtained from the same NMs, because he decided to farm for it not camp it, so why would that change now if its the same?

And yeah Vang's right Emp drops it like its hot. I cant blame people for not wanting to stay in Gustaberg xD.

This isn't a "we're sad because we are lazy" nerf, its a gilsell, bot nerf for items like PCC and Archer's Ring (I must say I will miss my tarutaru bride Angle ; .;), because it allows for people to still be able to obtain these items yet limits gilsellers feasability of using them to sell gil. For items like leapers and emp, i dont think gs camp these really on other servers, so I think that it is more of a way to get players around those levels a more accesable route to those items. I camped both these NM's, LL as a lvl 17-20 thf until i got the boots, and i camped emp at around 42-43 until i got the pin, I'm on my second of both (selling them was a bad idea anyway...), but im not bitter at all, these are seen as necessities to play these jobs up to par and they should be more accessable. (Im reminded of a time a guy once told my thf to farm beehive chips to pay for boots.....I was like sure ill just take a month of time to do that.....now i could do it in about two weeks for them, which are now 300k more expensive but thats because its easier to make money now).
And once again, this just means that people that need the item to use are given more ways to do it/more of an advantage against higher lvl players that sell items for gil. If anything it would increase teamwork at these NM camps because people that want the item can team up and kill LL multiple times so everyone gets the item....instead of me running around casting dia on LL as thf/whm against 6 other campers or running around with my bow and arrow w/ ws and no flee >.>; , I was only able to get boots after i had WS which was accesible a good 15 levels after they are really useful (SA).

I'd like to see a response to this. I dont care if this looks sketchy by quoting myself.

Haven't you people been posting for the past few months that you wanted these things to be made Rare/Ex?

Seeing as how I am done with camping Argus steadily let me let you all in a FACT that any Maze regular would tell you.

With TH2, the PCC drop rate is IMO AT LEAST 33% if not better, the PCC has a BETTER drop rate than Leaping Boots, Lizzy just spawns alot more often.

Plus down in the maze you have idiots that camp Argus without TH2 just like every other NM so it makes it seem alot harder of a drop than it is. I guarantee if you got 10 Lizzy claims and 10 Argus claims with TH2 you would have alot more Peacock Charms than Leaping Boots.

The whole non TH2 camping is another thread all in itself and everyone has heard me rant about that enough so I won't start another

Fact is, if you decide to camp a NM with a (secret window start time =p) all the way up to 120+ hours that I and my old camping partner have personally seen without TH2 you do not deserve any drop and should be checked for mental conditions. Why people still think they have this super luck and are above TH2 is beyond me, I don't even ask non THFs or non THF groups if they got the drop anymore, because I know they didn't and just wasted another shot at a PCC.

ha, well said!

Well the problem in that statement is gil buying is obviously a popular means of making money as well. Most of these items have been used to promote that system. I see plenty of gimps with godly gear. To say everyone that has a peacock charm earned it is erroneous.

And Argus will retain same spawn conditions except now there will probably be more competition from one time campers instead of repeat campers. It will not be easy by any means to get any of these new items(imposter if you would). And I really hate that word Gimp.

My advice to Vang, sell the peacock charm you have and camp the new item and see if it doesn't make you the amazing human being you were before when you used to camp Argus. Maybe you can still manage to be above us all with the new Rare/Ex item also

If BCNM drops were guarenteed, you would have a point, but they arent so that falls flat. If you have to do a BCNM run a few times to get it then you DO have to use alot of time getting it, mainly for collecting Beastman/kindred seals. And dont try to tell me its real easy to get kindred seals :P

Lol, I never said it was a free ride haha, read a post before you comment on it. I know that shit has a long ass spawn rate/drop rate. Just cause I dont camp it doesnt mean i dont it. And yes... if one item can give you 20+mil, it IS a meal ticket since thats what you are using to pay for your stuff.
