Was at my friends house and saw the trailor for PS3 Home.

Looks fucking sick. Share all files on your PS3, (even movies, you can go to someones "home" and view them) you get your own house area. Man shit looks sick. Home>Live?

Time will tell. But if they deliver on all the things they promised, yeah.

I really don't know TO much about it. It looks like a Ubar Sims game/online communication thing. I forgot to say, with use of a BlueTooth Head piece you can talk with people. Along with unlimited customization of your person.

The interaction thing is meh, more of a gimick. The big things it has going for it are: Matchmaking, file sharing, and its free.

Honestly while I will probably use Home every once in a while and think it is a nice addition, I doubt I'll want to log into Home just to do matchmaking and speak to my friends. I just hope that the continue to refine the functionality of the XMB because that is where I am more apt to want to launch my games and do matchmaking.

I think eventualy logging into Home will become the Default of the console, and that you'll be able to acess all functions of the PS3 from it.

Would you have to walk over to another building/place/whatever to access say your movies, and another for music, another for the game in the system; rather than just hit a button on a menu?

i think you access all that stuff from your own "Home" and im sure there is a warp option to get to yo hizzy.

from the video I watched, it seems that you have to be invited and that's the only way you can get into the house of a person online. :P

Thats true. That is where you share files. IE. Watch the person who invited you movies, listen to their music. IDK if you can share files or not. That be tight.

That would be exactly what I don't want. Hopefully it is optional and all functionality is accessible from the XMB as well as in Home.

Actually now that I think about it Home can't become the default because not everyone has internet access. So whatever trophies one unlocks, movies on the system, music, etc will still have to be accessible from the XMB.

I highly doubt you could because than that'd be like the P2P stuff and that's a big no no to publishers these days. It'll probably be like iTunes in the sense that the person can listen to/watch/etc things through it but you aren't really getting the file you are just streaming.

im sure there will be a mod to record that shit. just wait a little after it comes out.
and its 2007, if you dont have the intarnet you are either homeless, or another race...

Just cause you can download stuff doesn't mean it's legal to :P Being Sony is a business, if they let people share their files completely (as in sending a song or video via their networks) than they'd be in big trouble with other companies sooo..

Oh, probably, but like the PSP, it'll probably be useless pretty quickly. Sony seems to patch up fast x.x

I know plenty of people who have dial up only or no internet access. Also keep in mind that this console is sold world wide and just because a service is deemed affordable here (to you) does not mean it is affordable elsewhere. Honestly if I didn't play MMO's I would ditch high speed in a second. That would be another $50 a month in my pockets.
