Homi and the unfair lotting of Assault Jerkin.

I have always followed the statement of need before greed. If someone needs something that I want, no matter HOW much, I pass. Simple as that. I tend not to post a flame aobut someone unless the situation upset me, but today someone wronged a good friend of mine and I don't think it was right.

Partying in Onzozo. Andreas Aidyn Metri Miisha Homi and I are slicing through the Torama's like noone's bussiness hehe. Ose pops and we take it with just our party. NIN NIN BLM WHM BRD THF. No problem he goes down without turning, without yellow health to anyone, we owned him. No drop. The BLM Homi said something along the lines like dang I wanted that. I don't think anyone responded and we went on partying, all getting along great. A couple of hours later, Ose pops again and we snag him. Killing went fine just like before and the assault jerkin drops.

I immediatly ask who does and does not need it. All of us pass except Metri and Homi. I knew Metri needed it for his THF, which is currently 64. I ask Homi and he says he needs it for his 56 RNG. Now, Metri is a good friend of mine but I am not on his side because of this fact, I stated he should get it simply because RNG does not NEED Assault jerkin. THF would put it to much more use, and Metri was closer to using the jerkin then Homi.

Homi says too bad he's lotting anyway. They both lot... Metri gets 122 and he gets 986. We all ask him again nicely saying he doesnt need it like Met does, it should go to him. He says too bad again and then stops answering us. As it lots to him, he says "I'll use it for my WAR then." Andreas asks him a few times what level his war is, and by the lacking response I begin to worry that its pretty low. Sure enough I'm right. "Its 22"

Honestly this is utter bull shit. Only things RNG need, as Miisha had stated in the party a couple of times, is RNG AF and then Kirins Osode. And getting a 67 body piece (not sure if thats the accurate lvl but close) for a LEVEL 22 WARRIOR compared to someone who is a lvl 64 THF is just stupid.

We kept partying with him simply because there was noone else around, but I was disgusted with his actions and the respect I did have for him being a decent Galka Black Mage was shot out the window. If you do not NEED something, and someone else does, DO NOT TAKE AWAY THIER CHANCE AT OWNING IT.

Maybe I'm wrong but I really don't think its right ^^;
 
Totally agree ... THF and DRG > all other jobs except maybe RDM. Why do I agree? I was outlotted 3 times ... twice by a redmage and once by a drk.

Anyone who knows me know I was flipped out lol
 
Should have been booted from the party, and there should have been a lot more flaming. GM break-it-up flaming.
 
i think anyone with a job who could get use out of it should be able to lot it, provided they are within 5 levels of use. More than 10, and you're just being a jackass.

and RNG could get use out of it easily. I'd love it for farming, so i'm not haveing to use as much arrows to actualy damage things.
 
In terms of EXP party, they couldnt. But he was a good 11-12 levels away form it while Metri is within 3. And while they could use it solo farming, THF's can use it farming and in parties =(
 
Booting him wasnt the first thing that came to mind then, although some of us did think about it later regerting that we didnt do this... also besdies the fact that he couldnt use this for a long time and fact that thf would get more use of it Metri doesnt have a Scorp Harness at the time either.

Like Kari said this guy would have been out of party fast if there was someone around to replace him considering we still had a long amount of time to party.

This is the part I'd like to point out.... yes, ranger CAN use it for farming, but as lanien stated, thief and dragoon are best for this.

I've promised my friend Truegrave after I finished leveling ninja I'd solo this thing for him, I can get it for Metri too, would be a fun fight :lol:

"I can use the Assault Jerkin for farming," says the RNG.

Just the like WHM says, "I'm going to lot on your Wyvern Skull, becasue I like the look at the MP boost of the Crown."

I hear lotting on Assault Jerkin being accpeted all the time, and it's bullshit.
But when it comes to Moldy and O.bow God forbid anyone else casts lots.

Just as I typed the above paragraph I realized a new theory, witch is meant as a joke for now, but it seems logical. Moldy earring is most common for BLMs as too O.bow is common for RNGs. Best DD's in the game right? Most loved, most fought over, right? Now you got A.Jerkin common for Theifs and DRGs...yeaaaah. I think you get the point. This is why no one really cares TOO MUCH about other people casting lots of A.Jerkin. It's because THF and DRG are highly underpreciated jobs that asshats that casts lots like this can give two shits about them. :x

He was in the party, he did his fair share, and he deserves a fair lot on it.

He doesnt really need it, but he is just being one of those people that will get it, and brag and brag about it for ages, but will surely never wear it.

In this case, I think both of these apply. Just because I, as a THF or a DRG need it, doesnt mean I have more right to it than anyone else in the party. Granted, wtf is a 22 WAR or even a RNG going to do with it? I dont fucking know honestly. I dont know where the rest of this is even going. :?

Anyway, greed greed and more greed is how things work, and that will not change as long as people have free will. Just as some steal NMs, and some will forever be dicks; Dowzer and Razerratic are just a few I can think of right now. :P

So that means if this BLM killed Nihidogg(I'm just using a EX very unlikely that will happed) with a HNM group, and got M.body, he has every right to lot on it?

OT: Care to explain why Dowzer is a NM stealer and or dick? Proof?

1. No single person will ever kill any of those HNMs.

2. Dowzer= super dick, NOT A THEIF BUT A SUPER DICK!!! 8=D

Oh Krono, the HNM thing is done with points, no way will he be allowed to lot on it. Unless he has the points, and can outlot someone else I guess.

HNM linkshells are done with points. You dont just get it if you happen to be there, you use your points that you got by camping other various HNMs.

Lets say you camp Serket, and then you get 1 point. Also lets say that the drop you want costs you 30 points to get. Means you need to camp 30 HNMs, or be awarded special points for something. Thus if a BLM, such as myself, wanted a drop that has nothing to do with any job I am leveling, and I have the points, I could go into the running for it. Granted if someone else needs it, they would probably be considered over me, but it would be a case by case thing I think.

As for Dowzer, look up all his posts, you will see lots of posts made in a certain thread started by Sabia.
