More notes. Took a party at lvl 45 and capped ninjutsu to Quicksands Caves, everything conning IT. 6 Person party, my nukes were over 50% resisted. I think I picked mobs too hard for me to nuke efficiently... needless to say I still ended up being the tank and holding hate, but I was having a hard time actually dodging (as in, having them miss me completely as opposed to hitting a shadow)... so it'd be safe to assume that nin/blm isn't effective for fighting those "whoa-too-high" mobs, even though a good party can take them down. We still chained and had no downtime whatsoever though, so it was win win. I think though that nin/war is better as a tank for parties such as that...

But then again, I wonder how much damage I really was contributing. Without a parser, I can't really tell. Anyone want to party around lvl 45-46 (depending on where I'm at by the time this happens) and parse some damage? It'd be great to lend to the development of the alternative NIN sub.

I'd still really like to get a dedicated healer in there. But with a PLD and NIN tank already...If you go ballistic with Ninjitsu nuking and you have Ni and Ichi ready, that may work. I dunno if we'd need the additional healing power given that all people that the MOB would even pay attention to either have shadows or in the PLDs case, are a walking brick.
 
I guess what people are looking for form the nin is the nin/war combo for tanking. They've proven to be a decent tank if a pld is absent and having a nin/war or war/nin in the party can be good fun with the whm not having to heal them much from physical dmg, AOE is a different story. I also think alot of the reasons why nin is sought after for its blink tanking abilities and nothing else is the popularity of it and the majority of people don't realize the potency of the ninjitsu spells. I have a friend who has joined a static as a nin/war (main job is a DRK) and he was telling me how his ninjitsu was landing much better than the regular spells. I am leveling nin for my rng and currently it is floating around 15, but I have yet to use any of the new spells I got. As soon as I hit 15, I switch to rng leveled it to 30 and then went back to sam for my stint of leveling to 60. I actually can't wait to go back to nin.

Well a lil too late now... in preparation for the Dynamis shell I have gone back to SMN for the time being. I'll hit NIN up some more when I get more money though.
 
Cool. I'll hit you up once I get the NIN/BLM to 45-50 to see if we can go duo. Still a while yet though.
