Been looking at some stuff on FFXI in detail as well i was so bored and checked some very detail stuff out mainly about MNK

The Gi is left over right how meant to be but the cursed one should me right over left as its meant to be cursed or dead and you do right over left on that, but a monks second kick for the under foot kick is wrong on how you are meant to do it. Some of the punches are totaly if did that often irl you would pull a musle.

Any one notice small stuff like that or do i just have to much time on my hands.

Maybe filter that through a grammar search... Anyway, I got what you were getting at.

Gi isn't always right over left, it all depends on the tradition you are following. Also, since you had the cursed one uncursed, or blessed, it would be fine to wear it as the proper way.

The animations for attacks are a little off, but they do hafta be generic enough to work for any size mob. I'm sure that 90% of the sword techniques probably would never work in a real sword fight. And being an Aikido student, the majority of the samurai's cuts aren't exactly textbook.

That being said, most games don't adhere to quality of movements, at least MMO's. If they had, more would be like DDO in that movement will change the outcome of a swing (like moving out of range of their swing in time). In the end though, you really need to take the game at face value. How real can a game be when you have midgets casting the equivalent of a glacier onto people, and people riding cute looking ostriches and riding in boat-like planes?

Fixed.

As for combat, it's stylized, meant to look good. Real fighting does not look good. Anyway, a taru wouldn't be able to hurt anyone with their arm length, but try telling that to a taru MNK in ballista and see if you have shins left to walk away on.

I thought Aikido was bare handed style that focuses on the redirection of your oppoenent's force? Unless I'm wrong, where would a sword come into that? I'd never paid attention to which side of the gi was on top

If you are dressed right over left you are saying you been killed as thats how some one dressed you when you die, you are meant to dress left over right for judo, ninjusti etc. The swipe on the left leg would not work as its ankle to ankel not the ball of your foot to ankle. Also mai shorter you are in combat can be an advantage as you do not have to drop to get under some ones waist.

Only thing a elvan should be best at is CQC combat lol but not seen a RNG able to do that

It looks more like an inside leg kick. Shin bone to inner thigh (assuming the target stands orthodox).

Yeah, weapons are deffinatly not apart of Aikido in an offensive standpoint. Although, there are a few defensive/disarming techniques that you can learn to gain weapon in hand. Also it's not about redirection the the opponents force, it's about using it to your own gain. If someone is coming after you head on full force, you aren't going to push them back the way they came as easily as if you use their own force to help them past you. which leads into another part of Aikido, which is chokes, armbars, legbars, joint misplacement and all kinds of other stuff that makes your opponent not want to fight much longer, or dead.

I will say this though, Elvaan DRKs look like freaking robots, I hate the way they swing a scythe.

If it was a inside leg kick the person body should turn as well with a stright back but they bend

Actually, the origin of Aikido is in sword technique. The majority of the moves use simulated sword cuts. Also, there is vast training through Aikido using a bokken (wooden katana), and a jo staff (staff about 4 feet long).

Improved, not sure if fixed.
