How bout some dataminin?

Don't forget the general boost to 2h not even using a grip at all, as mentioned in the update details. We have to see what this general boost does before we can really compare 1h and 2h again.

Yes, but the general boost seemed to point more towards upper level mobs, where you WS then out, and the grips become even more pointless...normal party comparisons, this doesn't excite me much at all.

You also forgot to rate the Staff Strap, which is completely badass for mages, lol.

Hopefully there will be better grips in future updates, although SE did say they were only going to have small effects, not like Ridill Grip or some crap.

And the ws changes. Each individual update might not be that much on its own, but with all three combined it may just be enough to change some shit up.

Figures that someone would forget that grips were meant to be a supplemental boost to two handed weapons in the first place. Not to mention that any boost, regardless of how insignificant, is still a boost because the slot was previously unused in the first place.

If you ask for Tickle-me-Elmo for christmas and get a roll of Toilet paper, yes its beneficial, but no reason to get excited.

lol...I said I didn't rate them, only the melee grips for the most part.

I mean, it's not on your list. +20 mp and -2 enmity for free for mages is pretty epic, probably the best grip they added (assuming this is it, really no way to know till more people can datamine).

Difference being no one asks for a roll of toilet paper and a lot of people asked for this grip/update.

Ooh, here comes that Green Eyes stone in dynamis. Lemme macro on my Templar's Mace and.... ohwait
I already mentioned that Healer's Staff is better when you're sitting at full MP, which is not a majority of the time. Dynamis is only one of many things you can do in the game, so I wouldn't say it have a clear advantage over the other +cure potency items just because of green eyes.

Templar Mace was "equal" to healing staff only if you couple it with an Astral Shield but that new grip makes the balance shifted in favor of the staff now.

And it's only the 1st batch of grip! Now SE's gonna play with our nerves and money with new shiny grips at each update.
My point is that Healer's Staff doesn't have an advantage over any of the weapons, since its only better then the others when you're at full (or 49 from full) MP, at which point the other items get an advantage.

Point is, you're acting like Healer's Staff is better then the others all the time, which is far from the case. Sure, it gets a slight advantage now, but that was not the case earlier.

And i purposely left it off the list because I was only doing melee ratings since thats what I could actually say was good or bad, I won't rate something I don't know the effectiveness of first hand.

What was asked for was the Tickle-me-elmo. What was given was the Toilet Paper.

Well, from those, I'd say either the Double Attack grip or Critical Hit Rate Grip will be the one every melee uses.

Both pieces were just fine, and I liked them both. But when it comes down to which one I would've carried around only given the chance and inv space to carry one (t.mace + shield vs healing), I would've gone with Healing. I can make much more use out of +50 mp anytime I can actually get it boosted up than I can from 7.5 hp added to my Cure Vs. Maybe if I had to enfeeble (though I'm not sure why I would) it'd be different, but there are a lot more ways to get your max mp back than just resting. That's what I'm trying to say, not trying to say t.mace sucks/sucked. Now, it's just even better to keep the staff.

POL's up, I have the update DLing as we speak. :) Time for some real datamining.

I wonder what the recipe is for the mage grip. Bet it'll be something retarded which makes it really overpriced.

Done checking files, downloading files... 1397 files ftl -.-

41 min left, I'mma go make some extremly late dinner (midnight here)

Heres hopin for some kick ass bullets Im sure cors won't get ; ;

Anyone who asked for grips to be game altering are retards. Especially since the announcement of them came on the coat tails of the damage boost of two handed weapons.

Anyone who honestly thought the grips would be game altering is a retard, considering SE said themselves that they wouldn't be game altering. They said it would only be a small boost, nothing that changes anything.
