What the hell is going on?

It has rained almost every day for two and a half weeks. And it doesn't just rain anymore, it fucking storms.

And i'm not just talking about Illinois. This shit is happening everywhere. Ohio is fucking underwater.

Yesterday, I had to stay late, again, for a severe weather drill. By the time they let us leave, most of the streets were either flooded of had trees in them. All of the street lights were down, so major intersections became almost impossible to navigate. It took me a little over an hour to make it home, when it usually takes 15 minutes.

There is a football field I pass on the way to work every day. It is now a lake.

There is a nice white fence around my friend's house. It is now a pile of wood.

There are trees all over the condo subdivision I live in. They are now roadblocks, causing me to be 40 minutes late to work.

Its supposed to keep going tonight. I may walk up to Mother Nature and punch her in her ovaries, because this is seriously some bullshit.

How is everyone else faring against the worst August ever?

Careful, she can hear and she's spiteful :P

For the last week and a half we've had nothing but rain. One day it will be humid and in the upper 80's to low 90's and the next it will be in the mid 60's still raining. We actually had a break for most of the day yesterday. It was 95 with 95% humidity... omfgwtfoutdoorsauna. Later that same evening, torrential rain with severe thunder and lightning strikes. The entire state was practically in a panic, as we're... right above Ohio.

This is wild definitely, hurricane season usually does this to the whole country. It just swirls right up, but it hasn't been this bad in a few years, I agree.

I feel your pain, and I think the following quip is well within the scope of this nature-bashing :)

The weather is out of control throughout the entire country. Where ever you go, it's 90, then it's 30, then it's 80, then it's 20, and my balls can't take it. They're big and then small. Big, small, big, small. Apparently, I can't have kids, cause my sperm are gagging.

I feel your pain, Mr. Black.

Yeah, that's how it was here yesterday as well.

During the day it was beautiful out. It was hot and humid as balls, but it was nice looking. Then around 3 o'clock the black storm clouds took over the once bright sky and ravaged us with a storm that kept going until the wee hours of the morning.

Every playground, field, parking lot around here is still flooded. Can't wait for today's storms to start.

We'd been having a drought here for most of July. I was struggling to get my garden watered enough, my tomatoes were getting blossom-end rot due to lack of water, my melons were struggling to set fruit, the peppers were just struggling period. The fall crops I planted only came up in the shade, anything on the sunny side just up and quit.

Then the rains came.

Now all my tomatoes have been knocked over by the storms multiple times, and what plants that didn't get knocked down have the yellows because it's not warm and sunny enough for them. My melons are starting to split because they've taken on too much water, and the ones I harvested yesterday tasted like flavorless goo because they were so inundated with rain. The peppers are the only plants that seem to have improved in the rain, but the fruits they're setting out are still misshapen. I'll have to replant most of my fall crops.

This summer has sucked for my garden.

D.C.'s Summer has been craptacular to the other degree. We have been sitting at 90-100 degree heat, with like 85% humidity for like 2 monthes straight. The kicker is it won't rain here. Its been a really dry Summer except for anyone who is walking around in this nasty stuffy air.

In the last week the temps have finally come down to the 80's but I still think it has only rained like 1-2 nights in the past few weeks, and never for very long. If you got some rain to spare, send it our way would ya?

it has been hot, muggy, and altogether unbearable in S.C. When it does rain, the rains come so hard and so fast that it just runs off through the cracks in the ground.

Really nasty stuff, I think the end's coming soon :/

Planet Earth's weather is typically very volatile and dynamic. The relatively calm climate we've had over the past few centuriers is an aberration.

Here in Jersey today is the first time I've seen sun in probably two weeks or so, 90% of the time it's been raining. I mean, I like the rain and all but if it's going to rain, I want a storm. I don't want this "terribly cloudy but I'm only going to mist" stuff we had last night.

I live on a little island right off Jersey called Long Beach Island, so I'm right near the water and if the wind blows the right way, the bay will back up the storm drains and flood the streets. My house is up on a tiny hill and raised up a bit so it'll never flood, but my grandparents house has gotten over two feet of water in it in the past. The combo store/apartment on the corner from me has been hard to sell since that place gets water inside almost any time it floods.

It's just been really cold the last few days. Was 80-90 for weeks, ya know... summer weather. And suddenly, it rains and BOOM! 50 degree weather. I was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants around the house. Very uncool for August. Supposedly to be back to 90 though.. we'll see.

Here in North Texas the weather hasn't been normal at all. Usually all summer its hot and usually over 100 degrees. It has only been over 100 I think 3 times all summer. I believe in June it rained 23 days and hasn't been "normal" since.

Not sure which part of North Texas you live in but in the Denton/McKinney area it has been over 100 more than 5-6 times AT LEAST in August alone. Hell, we had a brownout at my house because of the three day stretch of over 100 degree weather. August has either been nice or fkin' hot. If anything the weather normalized itself here after the month long rain.

Everything is underwater here too, Pasq. NIU's Move-In day was today and they had to cancel it, along with Friday Fest and a whole bunch of other activities because of flooding. Hell, the cieling was caving in where my girlfriend works on campus last night.

So far, we've been without power since 2pm yesterday (all that food GONE) and we may not get it back until monday. All the schools are closed and there's a ton of trees/floods around the area.

This sucks.

I think it's rained 3 times all summer in East Tennessee. Once was yesterday for about 10 minutes, just enough to make it really humid.

Same in central Ontario. There has been a fire and water ban for close of the entire summer. I guess the good thing is every weekend has been perfect for the beach and cottage though.

I'm hoping that tonight's upcoming vicious thunder storm waits until I leave work, so I don't get stuck in a Severe Weather room again. Yesterday's storm was such a dick.

Eh... I don't know which is worse. Floods a week of 100+ raw temperture + humidity and heat indexes...

Serious, the SE is in a drought and in my neck of the woods, restaurants are requiring customer to request water to drink and in some places you're getting charged. Go go $1 tap water...

This past week has been gray... remnants of a hurricane I hear. It's even rained for an entire day! Not hard mind you. D.C. sucks.

The weather is really fucked up, its actually nice in minnesota and that just doesnt happen.
