Sorry if the pic's kinda big.
How is it possible for both of us (not in the same pt) attack a mob without claim going to either one. Is it because of those rules they implemented a while back having to do with mob aggro?

If someone else has more hate on it than either one of you, then only they would be able to claim it; if they have claim on something else at the time, then it would be unclaimed but unclaimable by you or anyone else until you get more hate on the monster. It seems like he had more hate than you and re-claimed when he started attacking it.

But wouldn't because the weapon hit me then i hit it, result in me getting claim. I think i did hear the mob aggro that guy first. So if that's true how did i ever get claim? If he aggroed it and hit it first?

Hmm I think it has to deal with you taking damage, and him making another hit on the monster. That is about the only logic thing I can think of.

it said right there "anticipated the attack" that could've worked for him to end up getting claim too.

In order to get claim on a mob that someone else has hate on too (such as a mob that's been claimed but gone unclaimed, or someone else's aggro/link), you have to get to the top of the hate list, and then do something claim-worthy while still at the top.

If two people therefore alternate attacks, it'll go like this:

1. Mob has initial hate for A.
2. B hits mob. Mob has highest hate for B. B does not get claim, since mob previously had highest hate for A.
3. A hits mob. Mob has highest hate for A. A does not get claim, since mob previously had highest hate for B.
4. Alternate 2 and 3 until either a. the mob dies (in which case neither A nor B gets exp or drops, iirc), b. one of the players falls out of the equation by zoning or dying or just generating less hate by melee or something, c. either player fires off a claiming action (like hitting *again*, or voking, or something) while at the top of the hate list.

This happens to me several times on bst, I send my pet after a mob, and someone engage it generates a tad bit of hate, and it stays yellow for a bit while the random person and my pet hits on it for 1-3 hits then the stronger hitter gains the claim. D'no why it happens, But it started happening after a claim patch.

Stronger hits means more hate, and the claim patch made it so that whoever has the most hate is the only one that can claim a monster. That's why it happens.

Earlier at Mee Deggi the Punisher I was fighting a mob and it popped next to me and I chi blasted but didn't claim and voke was down so I engaged and then someone else hit but didn't claim then I hit again till I got hate but it didn't drop true story. Lol run on sentences.
