How did you come up with the name for your character?

mom was pregnet and had this big book of names and their meanings. i was looking through just browsing and saw it Zakai. in hebrew it means purity. thought it sounded cool and took it =P
 
i looked mine up on babynames.com.

Zaltana is a Native american name that means high mountain.
 
First, I thought people were expected to roleplay. Second, before getting the game, and just knowing what jobs there were and some generalities about the subjob system, I wanted to be a red mage/bard - sort of a French rapier, Three Musketeers type of character (they don't use muskets oddly enough, so I didn't need ranger), and I wanted to be Tarutaru. I figured I'd speak in a Pepe Le Pew/ Monty Python Holy Grail false French accent and such. Pompidou seemed perfect. I got lucky in that it sort of fits in with the Taru names that don't happen to be double-woubled (sing-songish, ends in a vowel, etc). Once I got into the game, all of my assumptions proved wrong, so I'm just your average Blm/Whm with a French bazaar comment because I don't want my college French classes to completely go to waste, and because I like answering tells asking if I'm French.
 
Chiana is the name I've used online for 4 years, but it was taken so my first char was Cheana. the names from Farscape

my main char is Elphaba, the wicked witch of the west in the book/play Wicked

my elvaan mule is Fairuza, as in Fairuza Balk. only movie i can think she was in is the Craft

my mithra mule is Serengeti, nothing special, i'd just like to go to africa, and she's a cat so why not

and at last, after a year, I get my Chiana name back, on my taru mule ^^

Real Name :shock: I said too much.

I wasn't origionally planning on keeping my char. So I just put it in not thinking it would be long term. Was a second char on the husbands PS2. But I got farther than he was while he was away. So, he decided to let me keep my char, and he made a new one on the new system. He wanted a hume anyway, was Elvaan.

Shayla comes from Shayla Shayla, fire priestess from El Hazard Anime (all time favorite). She's the one in my avatar. After 6 months of playing my best friend is over and notices the name, and said: "Wow, you named your character after a porno star".

i made my own manga series(not published, only 13 years old >.<).
I sell it in school for $2 a copy so i dont make a profit or lose money from the paper used. The main character is named Zelk so wa la! theres my name. Most of the pll that buy the thing like it cause i gave issue 1 out for free ^^.( might not be the best artist but ppl say the story line is great^^)

(sry for all the typing and if there r lots of spellin errors)

1st book=189 pgs (i was stupid and didnt know how many pages in regular book and took me like 3 months including rough drafts)
2nd book= 96 pgs
3rd book=90 pgs
4th book=112 pgs
5th book=not rdy yet >.<
(takes a month or 2 to make a short book and like 3 months if im really lazy)

P.S. dreams of becoming manga writer or SE game designer.
 
Main (Sethala): Took the name Seth (no, it's not my RL name - that'd be Kelly >.> ), added the "ala" to make a feminine version of it. As far as I know, this is a completely unique name.

Ex-Mule (Retrim): Let a friend make a character on my account for a few months, this is the name he made. He later got his own copy and made Typhan (and had me send all his stuff to him, then deleted his character). This is also a completely unique name, as far as I know.

Mule (Mesaana): Another friend's character. He took the name from one of the Forsaken in the Wheel of Time series (the Forsaken are 13 of the most powerful Aes Sedai - mages - in the world, and all of them work for the Dark One). He didn't like the game that much, though, and I made the character into my mule pretty quickly.

My name comes from the Myst Novels (Myst like..the computer game Myst). Veovis was at first a friend of the main characters, then later on he starts to go crazy, and ends up poisoning everyone in the city and getting locked inside a book for his crimes.

I love Veovis.

So I stole his name. I use it in every game I play. Granted, Veovis doesnt look anything like a Tarutaru...I still use the name for everything.

Spent alot of time trying to come up with a name all the one i picked were taken Somewhere i came up with Strice but when i made the char i was having probs with my world pass and when we got it to work the name came out Stirce, I was ok with it so i kept it and I like it soo yeah...
 
Taken from Tolkein, the Silmarillion to be exact. Name of a mountain range that protects the Valar. It just sounded good so I went with it.
 
Long story:

Back in the day when I was 12 and absolutely in love with Dragon Ball Z I made my Yahoo name "Beautiful_Bulma" (Iwas12givemeabreak). Got to know a bunch of DBZ friends and one of them was a handle name of "Akira" who became my best friend. Took me like 2 weeks to realize Beautiful_Bulma was not a name I wanted so I made Kawaii_Akari (switching the a and the i of Akira, I know, creative).

Few years down the line and everyone just called me Akarichan, some girl started calling me Akarikins and it kind of stuck.

So I'm making my mithra character and I hit random name and BAM!

I never played MMORPGs till FF kast year but all my profiles were reddog 6-7 years ago. I started using it for email adresses and other thingd but I was never able to get reddog so I changed it to a few reddog variations but kept forgeting there name and just makin new accounts. Then out the blue I decided to watch the matrix and ever since I saw the first one I have been reddogneo and I know ill never forget that name :P
 
I was smoking a blunt, when I tripped and fell down the escalator. Than a beautiful woman picked me up, smiled, said I was sexy, asked my number and said "Next time Watchyourstep".....

Then I realized I was just "Lit" and I picked a taru :D
 
Dragon=nickname since i was 9(hated my first name) Ryder=Racing team (heheh just a group of irl friends that do everything together.)
