There are certian aspects of the game that I love and CErtian aspects that i hate. But i dont really know how to go about telling them aspects that I feel should be improved.

By no means is this a Flame but as ive been playing ive been seeing things that just dont make alot of sense to me, and would love to be able to tell them (SE) about it.

One of those aspects is Crafting. In short i love how it is much more realistic in the fact that it takes alot of stuff to creat good items. But one thing that urks me is for instance is the Randomness of Items required to make certain low level gear. For instance. To make a Bronze Cross-Pien Hammer (which is a lv7 Blacksmithing Item). You need to create Hammer head (lv15 Blacksmithing item), Ash Hammer Grip(I believe a lv10 Carpentry Synth), Undyed Canvas (Lv 25 Clothcraft Synth) and i believe one other material.

It just doesnt seem to make sense that you would need high level crafting supplies to make such a low level item. Am i wrong to want to tell them? To anyone who read this thanks for putting up with my idle ramblings.

They probably did that in an effort to get us to depend on one another more than we did in FFXI. As for getting in contact with them, I don't believe there's really an "official" way for FFXIV. I know on FFXI wiki a special forum was setup for people to make suggestions, and SE supposedly said they'd be checking it out. But really who knows if they ever did, plus it was for XI. People probably brought this sort of thing up in the beta though.

Yeah, I think ShomeGhuye is right. Not sure of any other official lines of communication. However, in regards to your crafting problem, a person described it pretty well for me on another forum. Consider crafting like building a computer. Its easy to get the parts together to make the final item (new pc), but it's quite hard (and takes lots of skill) to literally build it from the ground up (building CPU, GPU, HD, etc.) which would equate to the synthing of the individual parts. Yeah, its a frustration but that kind of puts it in perspective.

Problem with that PC analogy is that companies can mass produce the individual computer parts and sell them on the internet in real life. There is no internet (auction house) in FFXIV... =/

The issue with crafting isn't that it requires disparate parts from disparate sources, at least not to me. It's that crafting things frequently requires considerably higher-level pieces from within the same craft, and that just doesn't make much sense.

My gripe is more about the fact that you need considerably higher crafting mats from OTHER crafts than the one you're maining to get.

There's a level 10 synth in armoring that requires a lv THIRTY synth from leather...to make a level 5 or 6 piece of gear.

I mean seriously what?

They made obtaining even low level gear ridiculously tedious for no apparent reason. Most people are like level 20 and still wearing their starting gear because of how retarded it is just to get the low level pieces. I don't even think there's rank 20 ppl in ANY craft on our server yet.

Oh and another great thing is repairing. In order to repair all of your gear, you need to be r15+ in like every craft just to repair lv 1 gear. Then to repair some circlet I got (low lvl circlet) costs 25k just from 50%->75%. Idunno, I am starting to feel like 14 is a major step backwards from 11. And considerring that 11 is 8 or so years old in terms of MMO functionality...

Mercator.. That computer Analogy makes alot of sense, and I hadnt thought about it that way. And now that i think about it thats proably the way SE looked at it too.

I see a couple solutions to the problem myself and many others are having...

Solution 1: Make a Auction house so people can sell the stuff they make and other crafters can buy the needed materials to advance their craft.

Solution 2: Make a Search function that Searches all Bazaars within a Particular Market ward. (Example: Searches for all people selling Crystals in Uldah Syngot Ward 1) Which would increase the efficency of looking for items or other things crafters are specificly looking for.

Solution 3: (the Least amount of effort on SE's Part) Rename the Market wards, So Sellers have an general idea of where they should set up shop to best sell the types of items they are trying to sell. (Example: Blacksmith's Ward 1, Tailor's Ward 1, Crystal Ward, ect ect.)

those are my thoughts wht do yall think

1: They said they were looking into an "ah" sort of deal in the past. They just want to wait to stabilize economy from the get go I guess.
2: That would be a pretty good idea
3: They won't, especially in a game like this. Junk Food Court 1 doesn't sound like a "high-fantasy" name for a food court for example :).
