My setup has changed a bit, I moved a few things around and I got a new TV. I went from this to this. PS3 isn't in the shot (but it's normally next to the PS2), I just lent it to my parents so they could play around with it and see if it's the blu-ray player they want to buy.

Just took the picture, waiting on my roommate to log off Shin Megami online so we can watch the latest bleach.

I'm still working on learning how to program my touch panel; I'll show that off when I get it finished.

I'd post my set up but my room doesn't go far enough back to get it all.

What do you have in there?

37 Inch flatscreen, Ps3, Wii, 2 Computers, laptop, mini fridge, and random things from Otakon/video game pre orders.

hurrah for getting new hardware at Christmas :D

My UPGRADED main PC
Dell Dimension 4700
Intel Pentium 4 with HT NORTHWOOD 3.0Ghz
2GB PC 4200 DDR2 RAM (from 512MB PC PC3200)
XFX NVidia GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB DDR2 540Mhz core (from ATI Radeon X300 256MB)
14" LCD VGA
160Gb and 80Gb Hard Drive
Dual boot Windows XP Professional SP3 and Fedora Core 9

also the Laptop recently got upgraded from VistAIDS SP1 to XP Pro SP3 and FC10

It was the only one I could afford when my last one died, and it works rather well. I probably won't buy another until it dies or I build a new system. If I really want to use a bigger screen I can always plug my 30 something inch HDTV into my PC.

Your initial PC was the same one I used to have.

It's a good pc for the price.

I upgraded my monitor over christmas, but that's about it. The TV was an early present.

60" 1080p DLP Mitsubishi, supported by 1200 watt 5.1 Samsung theater system.
Xbox 360, PS3, Wii

2 laptops, both dual core. Dani's has 3gbs RAM and mine has 2 GBs. Also a desktop with dual core and 3 GBs RAM just behind our couch.

Normally, the setup is that Dani and I play on our laptops and watch our DirecTV HD-DVR or a Blu Ray on the PS3.

Samsung HT-Z510 home theater?

Update = Mitsu projector HD1000U color wheel went out. The cost of getting it fixed and buying a new bulb will equal about what I paid for it originally. I went with the Samsung 61" LED DLP. Looks wonderful and the bulb is supposedly never going to need changes barring rare problems. If projectors ever get to LED light sources and lose the color wheels I'll look into getting another but for now I'll stick with DLP or flat panel technologies.

Yeah, I was using the TV as an extended desktop from my laptop.

NEW PC!
New as in traded a friend a meal for it cause it was broken, just got it working

Compaq Presario SR1900NX
Intel Celeron D Northwood 3.2 Ghz
512 Mb DDR PC3200 RAM
ATI Radeon X300 128Mb 400Mhz Core (used to be in my main PC)
Uses HDTV as monitor
120Gb Hard Drive
Dual boot Windows XP Professional SP3 and Fedora Core 10

Its an epic piece of shit but all i'm using it for is watching anime and internet.

Just ordered a used Sony HC51 projector.

Got a 40 foot long HDMI cord as well for it from monoprice.

Paid $460 total for the projector, mount and hdmi cord and shipping. Paid $60 at the fabric store getting blackout material for my windows(works great - my room can be 100% dark at noon, and fabric for a 130 inch diagonal screen. I made it black because with the darkness level in my room, that should be the best contrast level wise. I'm hanging it with clothes hangers. works great.

With the 7.1 blasting out of my onkyo 805, and this bad boy, with a blu ray movie piping it, it should be pretty damn spectacular.

How much was the HDMI cable? If it was one of those cheapos you usually get off the internet for really cheap, you're going to run into some quality issues with a cable that long.

Yeah, I'm doubting that's a good cable for the length then.

While it's true that digital works or it doesn't; it also has significantly less range where it will work without problems. There is still signal degredation the further out you go, which with an HDMI cable results in more HDCP handshaking issues, color problems, audio problems, or it just might not work entirely.

Even Taurothar(or some other galka) talked about a test they did in his store, how a 30' monster HDMI cable looked noticeably better than a 30' no-name brand for 1/10th the price.

For 99% of people, who only need a 6-8' cable at the most, there's no difference between HDMI cables(unless one's not certified); but once you go past a certain point, there actually is a difference.

This is the cable I got. It seems very legit and monoprice is well respected among videophiles, not because of cheapo brand but low profit margins. Cables are one of those things that retails jack up incredibly . I'm also not going to be putting any audio through it - all my sources go into my receiver, then this'll go out from there.

Bought some new speakers for my computer for my birthday. Upgraded from the Logitech R-20, a great bargin-level speaker set I got for $20 to the vastly superior Logitech G51 surround sound. I considered going with the Logitech Z-5500, but I probably don't need THX certified speakers when they're only sitting 2' away from me; and I've been very happy with my choice so far.

Aside from the sheer level of volume, I'm definitely noticing much cleaner sound and the surround sound will definitely be great for FPS games. The other thing I'm very happy about is the little control pod that came with it has both microphone and headset 3.5mm jacks on it; which prompted me to get another pair of Creative headphones. I had a pair of them already, but they were USB-headphones, which are annoying as hell to use with vista. They sound fantastic, better than my Bose Tri-ports, and they're a hell of a lot cheaper; they just required me to have my sound set to look at the headphones before I started the program I wanted to use them with, I couldn't change the setting while it was running.
