I've honestly never been impressed with the LED DLP's; which is really disappointing since I love my LED flashlights and such. Last year they didn't look any better than the bulb style, and this year the Mitsubishi's with the DC4 chip look a lot better. They're not bad units by any means, but the only benefit to an LED DLP I've seen has been not having to change the bulbs.

I'm excited to hear news on Mitsubishi and their upcoming LaserVue DLP televisions.

Yeah, I can't wait to see what they look like next month, but I doubt I'll get one since they'll be as expensive as the flat panels.

Raider, nice set up.

I dont like the pricing on the sound systems... I have a medium/high end home system, the sub system are 2 15" Fi audio SSDs (800 w RMS each), with DigitalDesigns componets, all speakers in custom boxes tuned for home audio.

Cost me ~600 to buy and build. The amps were spare so i dont consider those into the price. And it gets DIRTY loud.

Sorry, I thought about it afterwards and wanted to change the poll, but I don't think I can do that after it's been created.

The pricing levels were basically what I've run into at my job; where $500 is the base level to get something remotely good, and people think that it's a ridiculously large sum of money. It was also just there so people who don't really know what they have, but know how much it cost, could vote with some accuracy. That's also factoring in the MSRP of the items, because some people(like me and Cmdr, and apparently you) got ours for cheaper than most people pay; either through friends/family, employee discounts, or just doing it ourselves.

My setup is a lot like Baj's, only older, like pre-HDMI.

65" Mitsubishi WS 1080i HDTV
Mitsubishi upconvert DVD player (a waste w/o hdmi)
DirectTV HDDVR
Onkyo receiver
360
PS2
Wii
Component Video/Opt Audio switcher. (the receiver only has two Comp/Opt inputs)

The grand banana though, and something you guys all should look into getting, is this beauty right here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remotes/universal_remotes/devices/376&cl=us,en

I LOVE this thing! I was a little hesitant to spend $100 on a fricken remote, but it was well worth it! This thing controls EVERYTHING! It even controls my air conditioner, the thermostat, and the fricken digital picture frame! The only thing it doesn't do is the Wii, because it isn't IR. But this is true one button control. You actually set it up for activities. So, you hit a button labeled "Watch DirectTV" (even the label titles are programmable btw) and it sets up all the devices that you need for that activity. Not only the devices, but the remote itsself too. So when I'm in "Watch DirectTV", the play/FF/RW buttons all control the DVR, but when I hit "Watch DVD" those buttons control the DVD. My desciption isn't even doing the thing justice, just trust me, you will be impressed!

I play my 360 on my 22" Samsung monitor.

And I run the sound through my laptop.

Those are cool, but if I was going to go that route, I'd get off my ass an learn how to program this. I have a 3-generation older model, the only real loss is it's about twice as heavy and I can't stream video to it; but they make the harmony's look like toys. My friends and I refer to those as "the god box."

Right now though, I've got 4 remotes. my TV remote, which I only use to turn the TV on, the receiver remote, my cable box remote and my HD-DVD remote which I hardly use since I rarely watch movies. I'm fine with the setup for now, but eventually I'm going to bother learning how to program that touch panel and I'll be down to 1 controller.

But, given how lazy I am, I might just grab one of the cheaper Harmony's to tide me over until I muster up the effort to spend a day learning the language for that thing. Especially since I can get them with my employee's discount.

Just picked up an LG W2452T 24" Widescreen monitor today. Fucker seems twice as big as my old 19" and twice as fucking bright. Things a beast. Hi to you 1920x1200

You guys get crappy cell phone pictures because I can't afford a digital camera:

I want a surround sound system but we're going to be moving into an apartment soon and I don't want to piss off the neighbors. >_>;

With regards to problem with neighbors steaming from having surround sound, I never did. I did put off buying a subwoofer until I was into a house though for that very reason.

Just because you have a surround sound doesn't mean you have to play it loud (although you really should because its FUCKING AWESOME). Like I still live at home and can't have mine cranked all the time, but when you can it wins.

And heres my monitor:

bigfuckinmonitordu5.jpg

Things bigger than my fucking tower lmao.

Got rid of my 30in SDTV last week and snagged a 37in HDTV. It's nuckin' futs. I raised my K/D ratio in every game I play and fell in love with single player/story mode onry games all over again.

Is that really a good idea, having the 360 sandwiched between 2 very hot running consoles?

anyway, I'm not rich like you bastards so right now I run on a late 1990's SD toshiba, around 50 inches. I'm planning on getting a 1080p 37'' samsung later this year, though.

My monitor is 21'', 1280x1024 max resolution (crap) also planning on getting a better monitor at the end of the year..

Have a wii, 360, and ps3. Not sure why I spent all that money on those consoles before buying something decent to play them on.
