Is that really a good idea, having the 360 sandwiched between 2 very hot running consoles?

They won't all be running at the same time, aside from that I've left the coolant holes on the top open on both sides and I've installed a unit with 3 extra fans blowing cool air into the back of my 360.

It's not one of those Nyko ones that actually does more damage than it helps, is it?

DIRECT IT TO THE TRASH CAN

Before it has time to do any more damage than it already has. The best extra thing to have to help the 360 cool better is a block of wood, or something, to leverage it some and give the two air vents on the bottom more room between whatever you have the system sittin' on. Considerin' the way it sits on the rubber pads, it blowin' out hot air is actually blowin' in hot air. I've got mine jacked up off my T.V. stand with a few hammered together 2x4 stubs I sawed off. Just stick it in the middle and good to go.

I broke down and got a new sub for my home theater. I'd been thinking about it the last couple weeks since I found out that my current sub didn't do full bass range, so I got a new sub that went all the way down to 20 Hz. I went with a polk sub since all of my other speakers are polks as well and I've been listening to it in my store for months now. Unfortunately, this means that I'll have to run the auto-setup again, but I'll probably just wait until the new Denon firmware comes out and I can buy the new Dynamic EQ/Dynamic Volume features.

I bought a new monitor today, and remembered that my 9800 has double DVI output, so here's my computer setup:
CIMG0048.jpg

FFXI looks damn nice at 1680x1050.

Which LG is that? Looks like mine.

W2052TQ, I was going to get the 22", but the 20" had the exact same resolution and features, but was cheaper and smaller, so I went with that.

Oh not bad. Good contrast on that one too. LG is some good shit, I love my monitor.

Yeah, my old monitor had a 500:1 ratio, jumping up to a 10,000;1 is a HUGE difference. my only problem is a frozen pixel(yellow) in a noticeable part of my screen. My old one had a frozen blue pixel, but it was far less noticeable.

Yeah same here, even the icons in Firefox look more vibrant. I don't have any pixel issues though. Can't you bring it back or exchange it though?

I can, since I bought it today. I tried a program to cycle the colors and had it running for about an hour and it's still there. Then I tried the "pressing on it as the LCD turns on" method, and all that did was change it's color for a little while, so I might try taking it back. My old monitor had a frozen pixel, but it just wasn't as noticeable, what with it being near the bottom and dark blue, rather than bright yellow.

I finally assembled my home theater this weekend, since my Dad was finally able to drop off the stand he had built for me. I still have to do some cable management behind the stand, since it's just kind of thrown together at this point, but it's complete.

I work in the Audio/Video department of Fry's electronics, so I see a lot of different people buying different levels of home theater equipment, and all for different reasons. So, I'm kind of curious about what setups everyone uses for their gaming/movies. So to find out, and just a bit to brag a bit about my own, I made this thread to see what other people are using. This is mainly intended for a living room/den/media room, since most people aren't going to have a full surround sound in their bedroom.

Specs are nice, and pictures are cool if you want to post them. Here's mine:

Going with a list:
65" 1080p DLP tv
7.1 reciever
Power cleaning station
PS3
PS2
Wii
360
HD-DVD player
Cable Box
Tower speakers
Center channel speaker
Subwoofer

The only thing that's not shown are my rear speakers and this amp, which I couldn't fit it and everything else into my stand, so it's actually behind the whole thing, since it doesn't need to be seen.
I see to many video game consoles... you scare me i got to the asumption you use this to game only I hope @ least you watch porn on it.

I'm not the only one with the 4 active video game consoles. And no, I don't watch porn on it.

By the advise I shall remove that fan thingy then.
But not before I have my new TV-furniture where I can place all my consoles seperately.
Probably buying that this weekend since I already ran out of space to place my consoles.

Current setup:
-26 Inch 1080p LCD TV
-Xbox (With modchip and XBMC funcioning as my mediacenter)
-Xbox 360
-Nintendo Wii
-Playstation 3 (80 GB)

Currently no external soundsystem to prevent my parents from murdering me.
When I get a place of my own to live again that will need to be added, when that time comes I'll look around for what is a hot but reasonably priced system.
And I need to buy a switch and a few short ethernet cables to connect all of them to my network and internet instead of having to climb behind them every time I decide to play another console...

Took the time and money to actually make it all look like something.

So... Messy!

I'll get a pic of me and my friends setup at his place, and then a couple of his dads Audio room. Any audiophiles out there will no doubt be impressed. The pictures will come soon.

Switched my setup a bit. Mainly the addition of my 46" Samsung LCD but I also busted out my old PC and am using it as a file server which you can see in the corner.
