"How do you make gil?" big scary sir...

Heh, fish up 10k moat carp for a Lu Shangs, that's what I'm currently doing, and I never want to see another moat carp again, but I must! >>

Wow.. go fishing?
If you want, take cooking to 29 (19-29 on Insect Ball) then you can make your own bait at 1/3rd the cost if not less.
This tempts me to fish.

Good, the idea behind this post was to help get more raw materials out there. To increase the amount of gil in the market, you must increase the amount of goods as well... without it, the currency drops.

Some other good things I have come across.
Beehive Chips.
(basically any leather, and some are very low level craft)
Silk Thread.
Beastman Blood.
Uragnite shells.
Bat Wings.

Study the AH, look what sells high and fast.

Harvesting is badass for making gil. Hardly any NA players do it in my experience- go into Giddeus at off-hours for JP and you'll most likely be the only harvester, but after midnight EST you have to start elbowing people aside to get to the points. Mugwort is the big money result, last I looked it was about 25k per at the AH. But there are numerous other items that sell well and quickly- red moko grass, saruta cotton, crawler cocoons, herb/veg/grain seeds, etc. I'd estimate about 100-150K per hour harvesting on average, possibly more. Combining harvesting with levelling clothcraft is also a smart move, it's nice to be able to smoosh the everpresent near-worthless flax flowers into linen.

I should also mention that I snagged Hoo Mjuu twice while harvesting, just happened to be running through there when he popped and outclaimed the campers, heh. No drop though.

I have no problem disclosing this information because now that I'm past sweet rice cakes in cooking my harvesting days are probably over, lol. It's great gil, but boring as hell.

You can't dig up elemental ores. That is a myth. You can however dig up adaman ore, orichalcum ore, philosphers stones, gold coins, platnium ore, gold ore, darksteel ore, and any number of other valuable items.

I personally have dug up everything listed above, with the exception of adaman. And personally, I don't think it takes a specific skill level to dig any one item up, skill level just increases your chances of finding an item, and increases the speed you dig at.
No, you can dig up Elemental ores. Cubs posted the screenshots about a month ago.

how rare are those high priced items? is it even worht the time, i know i used to dig all the time on ym way to party locations, and i NEVER got anything even worth selling on AH. :(

on a side note: i find your avatar strangely hipmotizing marajade O.O

idk why, maybe there just soemthing wrong with me.

Do NOT bother trying to go out digging up elemental, adaman, orochalcum, and gold ores, and Philosopher's Stones at level 1 Chocobo, you need atleast Level 5 to start getting the basic good stuff(Gold and Darksteel) and even then, your chances of successful digs on those items are pretty low compared to an A15 or A10 person, who most likely will dig up all the good items in the zone before you even dig up a pebble.

Also add "make a female char and cyber your day away" to the how-to-make-gil list. I think we have a few good threads about how well that actually works somewhere on this board.

My mule is a Mithra and even know its blatantly a mule (sits in cooking guild when online and only ever runs between there and AH and MH) I get so many guys offering me gil and trying to chat me up. I take the gil at this rate my skill ups will be free :D

Yes Grifftron took me harvesting when i'd just started levelling drg. Best thing is to take someone else with you to bounce the Harvesting Points around. On my many camps of Hoo Mjuu (still no signa) I often shout out the points locations if I see them.

Mining and Crafting work alone very well ore dont stack but you can make it into ingots and sell them

How to Make Gil:

Give me 10 million and I'll share my secret.

Pyramid schemes aren't a way to make gil -.-
