There's always the art of the intervention, but be forewarned, regardless of how many facts come to light, people will believe what they believe in the end.

Hopefully hearing from good friends and loved ones about how it's affecting this person might do the trick. >_<;

There are other routes, which I'm sure some others might follow up with.

Might be a gem in the rough in Myrrh's thread as far as other approaches go...

on topic. you don't have to convince them they have a problem, you need to make them face that they do. they know they do.

trying to help them without knowing why they're doing it may just make it worse. try and find out what's driving them to it. if you have an intervention and it pushes them farther...

The thing is, they will deny they have the problem until the ends of the earth. You can't force someone to change, they'll have to want it enough to make it for themselves.

My suggestion is to keep on them. Let them know you care and are a friend, that wants to help. Can't do anymore then that, really. Because in the end it will come down to them and their realiztion of the problem.

Denial is a powerful thing, unfortunately.

Bigotry is laudable in these times, and racist persons i feel to be a minority. gay is just a word thrown around jokingly. if i wanted to say you sounded homosexual i'd say you like swallowing big black cocks the way myrrh does. at one point i would have said it sounds retarded. you wouldn't have taken a rant to that would you? someone else might take offence to it. all i'm trying to say is, lecipoo sounds like something an old lady would call an infant. no offence meant to old ladies there of course, one must watch what one says on the internet right?

Thanks for the comments guys, I will check that other thread. I think it's hard because she's 19 and her boyfriend doesn't help, he encourages it (it's drinking btw) I don't know her family, and I'm assuming they don't know how much and how often she drinks. As far as me seeing a problem in it, we have a 2 hour break between classes and she will drink a couple beers if we go to her boyfriend's house (it's close to school)for lunch. And yes, we do have to go back to class. Another instance was a wedding of another of our classmates. Four of us rode together and on the way she busts out a pint of vodka saying that the open bar of beer wine and champagne wasn't going to be enough for her. You are all right tho, we can only say so much. I just hope something bad doesn't have to happen to her or someone else for her to get a wake up call.

Don't know if anyone had mentoned it, but a intervention works really well. I have been involved in 3 of them, and outta the 3, all the people ended up in rehab and were set stright.

How often would you say she gets drunk? Every day? Every other day? Twice a week?
