How hard is it to actually get Carbuncle's Ruby?

You can either have someone higher level (preferably someone with sneak/invis) escort you or you can try what I did. I switched to my level 15 monk (didn't wanna lose any xp off my warrior) as soon as i got into ranguemont pass I used sneak invis. go straight in the tunnel thru the red door. if the door isn't open you'll need to talk to the first npc you came to (you have to remove sneak/invis to do this though so be careful...i lucked out and someone had gone thru just ahead of me so the door was still open). Once you go through the door take a right at the first intersection, then a left at the next one...after that just keep going right. I then just deathwarped out of Beaucedine after getting my weather effect.
 
Yes! Me and 3 other LS members took a trip to Beacudine Glacier. About 15 minutes of panicing because invisible and sneak are wearing off, etc.

I have gotten to level 6 in SMN already, hoping for many more levels tomorrow. :D
 
Congrats! Summoner is a lot of fun and though I've only gotten to level 3 on mine (been trying bst and bard too) I noticed the levels went really quickly.
 
I loooooove the summoner! Very happy to see more people trying it out - It gets even better after lvl 25 when you get some great Blood Pacts :D
 
Full SMN XP parties are just plain sick as hell!!!! 6 level 71-72 SMN's bustin out leviathan / fenrir on IT Spartoi Warriors / Mages in King Rams Tomb = Dead Mob in 15 - 20 seconds with chains hittin 6 even 7 :shock: :shock: :shock: :shock: . After Seeing this.. I may just go SMN after I max out this PLD.
 
I agree the drop is really random. I was partying with Porum for the bard quest and fought a couple leeches for fun and we got one on the second leech. I won the lot and Porum made me fight leeches for another four hours before we could leave and finish the bard quest.

I do have a suspicion though those programmers at S-E are having a blast seeing us very frustrated over these drops...
 
Hey I have helped about 3 or 4 different people get this.

Everytime I go to Buburimu to get it and have never had to wait more than an hour.

I am ALWAYS willing to help with this so if anyone wants just send me a /tell in game and I will come help you.

Occasionally I am busy but more than likely can help you with this "simple" task.

Not sure if its the TH2 that helps but luck seems to be on my side in this game.

I've gotten 3 Carbie's Rubys by accident, tossed the first two since I was never planning on going Smn. Find someone prefferably 50+ and head to the Leech Room in the bottom level of the Maze of Shakirimi (sp?) out towards the Buburimu exit.
There are about 40 leech spawns in one medium sized room (which do link, so pull with caution), but all 3 rubies I got were aquired within 1 hour of camping the NM that spawns in the general area. I'd think it has to be one of the quicker ways of getting one.
