How is oztroja these days?

I have seen a pretty big increase in the prices of Astral rings. So I was wondering hows things in that hell hole now, compared to lets say 8 months ago. Reason for me asking is pretty simple. My friend Punitan has hit yesterday lvl 55 as a bard. And of course, his AF pants is located in Oztroja. For a bard that pants is pretty critical (according to him, I dunno -.-; ). I am a bit worried about him if he has to compete as I had to as a brd. He needs to sub whm for invis and further more, he doesn't have an escaping ability like Flee, or Chainspell Warp.

He asked me for help when he goes for coffer hunt (and the key of course), which I agreed but I thought I should better be informed of the situation around there. So anyone who recently went in there have experienced serious thief infest in that zone?
 
I see people getting their oztroja AF every day... I'm assuming it's not as bad as some servers where we got people dominating the coffer spawns...

But now? I do hear there are more thf running around hunting coffers than ever before...its the same as Aquarius... now his cloth is worth a lot more than it ever was >_<...and because of that, now every time I try to camp him I'm competing with 5 JP PTS or a horde of RDM or so... never usually see anyone camping him before the price jacking.
 
I hate going this place... Well for sure we have to go for Mnk and Whm for camping the key... then come back as rdm and brd to actually find the coffer -_-; I never expected in comming back to do this again /deep sigh.
 
It is still as bad as usual. I do some off and on coffer camping for rings there while competing against 4-5 others thieves plus the occassional /tells from people looking for their AF. Only thing I noticed lately is that the rate of finding the rings has decreased drastically. Use to be able to get one about 40% of the time now it seems like 10%. Since the price increased it made it worse even more people show up :(
 
Thx deci but we finished it. Key part was easy. Cleared the room once and got the drop (along with a bunch of spells, no tornado tho /cry). The coffere hunt... ugh /SCREAM we were there FIVE HOURS. Thats right FIVE HOURS. I told punitan to stay in the code room while I go running around for coffer. As I expected there were 4 thieves runnign aswell. 2 being coffer seekers.

After a while, a kind JP Thief named Doll sent me a tell of helping me. So we were 3. Him checking the upper part, and me running in circles from the Lever door till the stairs to the key mob area. Finally I simply got tired of running and just sended tells to ALL THIEVES to let him have the coffer. I understand its a harsh competition but after 5 hours doing this, it simply got to my nerve.

The coffer poped in the leech part, and so did the other thieves arrived. I stated in say to let Punitan has the coffer after 5 hours of waiting. He agrod all the leeches but opened the coffer and claimed his reward. But surprising he didn't die. Reason? He casted Minne2 and 3 and equipped terra staff -_-; Clever little guy...

i spent 4 hours for 4 keys then an extra 3 hours at the code room before deciding to try my luck outside where the thieves roam. when i saw JP named Hereo run around in his behemoth mantle +1, strider boots, uncursed armor, peacock charm, and whatever 5mil equipment he had on.. i didnt think i had a chance... until....

i saw a coffer chest untouched...

My tale:

i'll try keep it short.
Searching for AF. Had competition for Oz coffer. Chibiuni offers some sympathy and leaves. Dela... doesnt.
So running around the same line looking for coffers when i see dela appear non-invis. She gets hit with banishga and gets jumped by around 10 if not more yags. She warps. I rejoice.
Tonko ninja-tools running low. I see another thief. 75 thief with uber equips including Thief Knife (currently 15mil or so on the AH). I figure i'm no competition. Devi invites me to take her place in an exp PT after she gets a certain amount of exp more. On the top floor i spot the 75 thief again. He goes through the door where the last chest is. He is in a party evidentally helping a pld do genkai3. I rejoice, but only have 3 inviso-tools left. I spot pythia in the corner botting the coffer that pops there. I turn the camera angle and suddenly see a SWOOSH (something like when a NM uses their 2h) coming from behind me where Pythia was. It was my first time seeing a mimic. The other 3 people in the room just sat there and watched as this mimic ate pythia. The 75 thief kept saying "Gadu"... something that i still dont understand. Pythia didnt fight back of course so botting was evident. Eventually the mimic despawns and i get this idea that maybe the coffer has respawned elsewhere as soon as the mimic despawns. So i open the door, use a tonko, the door closes. Had to ask for help opening it since i only had 2 inviso-tools left.
I ran and ran and ended up finding the coffer in the middle of Leech land.
At this time i only had 2 tonko and was forced to take 1 off to use a silent oil. Used my last tonko and ran in.
1st picking fails and i lose sneak and all the leeches begin to attack..... but all missed their first attack. Began spamming my macro to pick this coffer. I get hit a few times so i go Perfect Dodge and continue picking. 3rd times a charm and i get my Rogue's Culotte. Then use my warp scroll.

I took a few hits on the way out cause Perfect Dodge wore.... but i lived.... through strife and through hell.... through the trials and the tribulations..... i lived... and came out a MAN.

I got my bard AF pants there recently. After getting key, I camped the spawn behind the brass door, chatting on ls and watching for pop for about an hour. After getting bored and not seeing anyone coming into the room for a while, I decided to go explore. I took a right and went to the coffer spawn there, and tabbed onto a 49 thief I had seen earlier, then tabbed onto the coffer right by him. He had a blm Yagudo facing him, and was obviously waiting for the right moment. I got right by the coffer, casted foe lullaby on the bird, which took off invis, tabbing to the coffer during the cast, and then spammed my key macro til it popped. I then casted horde lullaby on the other bird in the room, and used a warp scroll.
