How long before you replace?

I usually wait about 5-10min. Even during party, if I am leader, I search every once in a while anyways just to see what is out there and available just incase something does happen like a d/c. When I exp, I intend to do just that, not wait around for someone that might be back.

10 mins. I even expand it to 15 sometimes, but in that time I start looking for a replacement and I ask him/her something like: Hello, our member d/c'd, would you like to replace him/her IF he doesn't come back in <instert time here>? if the member comes some mins after I invited replacement... well I have to tell replacement that he/she is back >.<

tend to call a coffee break and full heal, or check with the pt and see what they want to do. sometimes if it is just a melee DD and we have 2, I will choose to carry on on lower teir mobs in the area.

Pretty much what I do. I understand problems with internet connections, especially with all the problems with Comcast that I've had as of late.

Also, keep in mind that if you d/c and when you try to log back on you get the "still logged in, please wait a few" message, that just means you were *very* speedy about logging in. It only takes you 60 seconds to conk out on the server end, and most if not all of that is generally taken up by rebooting POL or whatever.

So if you get that message, don't wait 6-7 minutes, just try to log in again a few seconds later.

I usually wait about 15 min for someone that's DC'd to return, 20 min if it's an important role in the party and there aren't a lot of rep's seeking or on at all.

2-3mins if I don't know the person 5-10 if I do...

That's pretty short. Wouldn't it be worth it to wait an extra few minutes considering the time spent to find another person and wait for them to get to camp?

If someone isn't back within 3mins after DC then it is usually not a minor problem like POL booting you to desktop or something. And if its not a minor problem then you will either need to reboot your router or something. Maybe worse, you come back and continue to DC every 5mins, both of which things waste a lot of PT time so I just play it safe and find someone almost immediately. I don't have usually have patience for strangers with bad connections and ruin 5 other peoples XP/HR.

I start looking for a replacement right away, because you sometimes need all the time you can get. I usually wait around 10 mins to actually invite a replacement, more or less depending on the quality of the person being replaced. I'll wait 15-20 for a 5 star player to reconnect - someone I know isn't just bailing on me. I'll shorten it to 5 mins for a 1/2 star idiot. Sometimes, I'm all but looking for an excuse to boot a person w/o looking like the badguy myself, and will invite almost right away.
