How many of you are planning to play FFXIV?

I will be there as well. The game's launch determines how long i continue playing 11.

I plan to try it out. The change in my work schedule that largely destroyed my ability to spend quality time in FFXI will still be in place, so I don't know how much time I'll be able to give it.

I'll be there without a doubt. Hopefully the majority of everyone runs on the same server.

Unless it's just that unbearably godawful, nobody leave the game when we all see how imperfect the game is at launch. Expecting it to be already finely tuned and full to the brim with content is stupid. Having such high expectations for a game at launch will only lead to disappointment.

I might try the beta, if there is an open beta. I'm not really hyped about the game though. I'll try it out because I do like the scenery and the realism to it. I'm just not thrilled about all the models looking exactly the same as XI only more detailed.

I don't think the game will be anything I'll stick with.

I am torn on whether or not to join XIV. Learning a new game and being a stupid nerd will be fun again but I will have to see how my health is.

thats the beauty of the beta, everyone is nerds/noobs.

I was quite disappointed to find out they are using the same races as well. and then once i got over that, i was like. Why even change their names, if your gonna use the same race?

I'll be there.

Being a noob does kinda suck and is frustrating to learn sometimes. But when you look way back on that day, years later. All you can think of is good memories. And all sorts of funny things you did. Maybe it's just me?

Also I'm kinda glad they kept the same races. Elvaan ftw!!

Er "Elezen" sorry

It is the same for me. My favorite days of FFXI are the days I spent pre-subjob just enjoying my time with friends without any other worries. Soon after I realized the scope of the game I wanted to do it all and ended up ruining my "good time" in the process. That is not to say I didn't have fun in my later FFXI life, but when I was more ignorant to the game it was pure bliss.

As for FFXIV I plan to try it out. However, I will not be gung-ho like I was in FFXI or even WoW. Its level of "casualness" will determine how long I play or how much effort I put in to it. I failed out of school and quit working for the good portion of time I spent in FFXI due to being addicted, I don't plan to even come close to that situation for the next go round. I'm goin' to try and keep a more fun approach like I did when FFXI was still young and if things even show an effort to get beyond that point, I'll put it down.

I'll hopefully be there >.> It all depends if I've upgraded my laptop or not by then.

Built a completely new computer in the hopes of improving my chances of getting into the beta if/when it begins. I'll probably check it out, but a large number of my RL friends are holding out for SWTOR so I don't know how much I'll be able to put into it. I am hoping that FFXIV is a little more on the hardcore side than the current trend in MMOs. Although I don't want to see anymore 3-hour, once per day NM windows, I do at least like the concept of NMs.

Sorry, not interested. FFXI was really my first big adventure into the Final Fantasy spectrum, and although I love the single-player games, I am not enthusiastic about XIV or even XIII for that matter.

Blasphemy, etc.

I'll probably end up trying it out at some point. But I think I'm mostly gonna head back to my non MMO FF roots.

Maybe it's the old part of me that just wasn't into all the FF games, or I simply haven't read enough about it, but it just doesn't appeal to me.

Sorry to disappoint :(

Yea, I feel the same. I do want to give it a shot, but I've been disenchanted to the whole MMO experience.
